A group of performers walk around Shibuya to advertise the new 109 brand GATTO ROSSO. The performers belong to the dance troupe Umebo. GATTO ROSSO is an Italian-American brand aimed at girls aged 18-23, who "look like adults but are actually still cute," said a spokesperson for the brand.

18-23 are adults.

Gatto Rosso: Red Cat. But why is it marketed as Italian American and not just Italian?

Ah...More people advertising something, dressed weirdly with blank expressions. How unique!

Hw ridiculous. Who says that anyone past 23 is not cute? They have a serious issue with age in this country.

I guess that would make me waaaaay ugly (T_T)

Wait - must be a niche brand. I mean, for people who are up to 23 years old and actually still cute? Too bad they couldn't find one of those rare exclusive members of that increasingly evasive demographic to replace the girl at the front of the line in this pic.

are they part of the red man group?

I always thought that the object of advertising was to attract custom; surely this little band of strangeness will frighten them away.

If they were they'd be promoting tobacco...

noirgaijin: I don't think this is sold in America or has anything to do with America. It might be strictly be a Japanese clothing line.

And nothing to do with Italy either.

How this many freaks walking around for 109 not get arrested for impeding traffic etc like the last time they stanged something stupid on the streets of shibuya????

That's an oxymoron -- If they are still cute by Japanese standards, then they don't look like adults.

More 'uniquely original' ways to conform... Step right up.

Competition for - Forever 21 outlets.

Wonder if they had a police permit for this.

noirgaijin: As an American of Italian descent,"Italian-American" clothing makes no sense to me. I draw a blank on this particular style. Same as saying "Irish-American" clothing. My guess is that this is just a complete a fantasy made up by Japanese marketers. Any American women have an opinion?

Stronzo!

In another article in the crime section, a 17-yr-old is called a boy and an 18-yr-old is called a man. So exactly at what age does a girl become a woman?

lol, thebottomline. Ma che!

They will eat it up

I am Italia and I have never hear about Gatto Rosso but good luck anyway .

So now that the Blue Man Group has left Japan, its time for the Red Man Group from Japan? Hmmmmm....
