Hah! God forbid he should slum it by squeezing his generously-sized backside into an economy seat.

hah! God forbid I'd have to fit MY backside into an economy seat!

Wow! Screw business class, I'm flying in economy class.

No, I think she's telling him"mae, aitemasu yo!"And he is cheating anyway because if he would sit in the second row, he surely wouldn't be able to stretch his legs this far.

So is this new premium economy (which is an oxymoron in and of itself..) section designed at the expense of regular economy seating? Many North American carriers have reduced the seating space in economy by several inches to make way for their own premium section...

I think it's telling that he didn't want to try and fit into the "premium economy" seat directly behind the one he chose. He apparently prefers his shins to be un-bruised.

If it is like ANA,s you get a little extra legroom and there are less seats per row, 7 vs 9.

There is a secret for convenience when traveling in economy class. If you book your tickets in advance, and you can choose your own seats inside the airplane, always select the seats in the front row, as they are the ones with the largest space for your legs. I always choose the front row, and I can stretch my legs like I am in the business class.

Ueki definitely has a good seat - there's no seat in front of him.

It's about time. The seats were behind the times on JL for years.
