if only there were more of these places.
LoveUSA
it is very small.

What ever works. :)

That is the weirdest skating "rink" I've ever seen... o.0
nandakandamanda
Not ice, right?
Sarge
If I went there, within seconds I'd slip, my arms and legs windmilling, cartoon-style, and then I'd be flat on my back.
SushiSake3
Great idea.
Sarge
Sushi, you wound me, ha ha ha!
kweto
I don't think so either. Perhaps that EZ Glide synthetic surface JT had a pic of last year too?
Foxie
I think these city ice skating rinks are a good idea, I would love to see more of them. They give you a break from your tedious life. And, Sarge, you shouldn't worry too much about falling, it is the standing up that is worse....I will hold your hand...hehehe.
aquaman
How about a real rink??
herefornow
Yes, it is synthetic ice. And, its nice and all, but I don't understand why it rated like 10 minutes on the NHK news last night.
LoveUSA
The ceiling of this ring is beautiful.
hahahaha Sarge will bring you down Foxie, be careful.
nemoflow
Why can't they make a real ice rink?
If they can do it in Sheffield, UK, they can certainly do it in Japan.

Ice Skating is folly.

Nice idea. Let's hose over Shinjuku!
flatearther
I agree with pamelot.

I've never seen a rectangular rink...isn't it easier to skate on an oval? Those corners seem a little difficult to navigate.
RogueFive
Can't really complain about free-to-air tv. But yeah that rink sucks. Everybody looked like they had to labour around that high-friction polymer surface, even those standing still, giving the pre-scripted ticks of approval.
Sarge
I'm going to try skating there tomorrow, and Foxie and LoveUSA had both better be there to help me up, ha ha ha! I'll have you know that I used to be able to rollerskate backwards, but that was decades ago...
bobbafett
Sarge,
LOL, don't break anything:)
LoveUSA
Sarge you are professional!...
but before we go I think I need to take a first aid trianing course.
