An employee of ActiveLink Co demonstrates the company's PowerLoader light PLL-011E in Tokyo on Monday. The PowerLoader is a robotic exoskeleton that is developed to help farmers and construction workers. It has two other variants, the compact PowerLoader Ninja, that weighs only 15 kg, and a PowerLoader built to lift objects that weigh up to 220 kg. The system functions by measuring the direction, rotation and force of pressure that a user applies, translating that into the movement of the machine.

This is totally cool. Many people say we are heading to a terminator future...I think it will be more like the matrix. This PowerLoader is way too cool. I wonder have slow you have to move, and how smooth the movement is.

I see more Iron Man rather than Terminator there..... OK maybe Alien 2... but not terminator.

I was thinking Alien 2 as well. Although, I think it would require very little to provide some environmental protections to the rig, this is a very cool application of the sciences.

No matter whether it's Terminator or Matrix... It's ironic but unsurprising that science is building humankind's own demise. It's almost as if anyone is crazy for a dystopian future. But once it's there the same people start wondering why human life has gone awry.
