It's a "money" trap!. This is not the "movie" you are looking for.
If you are social justice warrior, you'll be happy with the droid. This movie is bad, real bad.
Go see Deadpool 2 if you want to watch a good movie.

Why do so many extreme right-wing Americans hate the latest Star Wars reboot? And not on aesthetic grounds?

Judging by the disastrous numbers and the director issuing a public apology for this catastrophic "failure" I would say more than just right-wingers are not liking it. About time for Hollywood elitists to earn their money and come up with at least one original idea..

Cranking out a movie a year, regardless of whether there's a good script, is probably not a good strategy. I'll still check this one out though.

This is false? No where has Ron Howard issued any kind of apology, in fact he's defended the film.
Solo is a non-numbered entry in a franchise that once always had them, featuring a smaller side story released merely five months after the last numbered film. Most people I talk to aren't snubbing it because they hate TLJ, but because the film doesn't seem particularly interesting.

Star Wars is really sucking now. How many of these movies are they going to keep pumping out? Shoulda quit after the first 3.
The only sequels I watch these days are Conan.

Nobody is forcing you to watch Star Wars films, please relax.
I myself, an ardent fan since the beginning, did not go watch the two ewok films and have no intention of doing so. But the rest are great escapism. Some of the greatest sci-fi films of the last century were "flops" on release.
Now, I'm not saying Solo will be up there with Metropolis, Blade Runner or The Day the Earth Stood Still etc... but I can't judge it until I sees it.
As for original ideas in film? Happens all the time. There's other countries making outstanding cinema besides the US.

I’ll try, but I won’t guarantee anything

They contain strong feminism and SJW values instilled in them.
For example, women are protagonists in the Force Awakens, Rogue One, and the Last Jedi. Women order men around and men are hot heads.
Even in Solo, the only film with a male protagonist, Solo's girlfriend left behind Han's terrible home planet doesn't need any rescuing, rather she is now a crime syndicate boss herself, an expert martial artist, and saves Han Solo's life from certain death. However, it was a feminist SWJ droid that really ticked old school fans off.
