Protesters including Israelis residing in Japan attend a "Stand-with-Israel" rally demanding immediate release of all hostages captured during the ongoing conflict with Palestinian Islamist group Hamas,

Which hostages? The thousands of Palestinians that have been in Israeli jails for years? The whole population of Gaza? Or the few taken by Hamas a couple of days ago?

-2 ( +20 / -22 )

Most of the people at my Japanese company can’t point out Israel or Gaza on a map!

May God have mercy on innocent victims on both sides and bring a swift end to this horror.

I would join…

How about the innocent children and toddlers that have been beheaded? Even Biden has confirmed this. Tell me, how many Israelis have decapitated innocent Palestinian babies?

4 ( +19 / -15 )

Yes like the babies taken from incubators and just dropped onto the floor.

So why don't these Palestinian "hostages" of Gaza simply go to bordering Egypt. After all, it is an Arab country that would be happy to welcome Palestinians, right? It seems that Egypt doesn't want Hamas terrorists either and has no interest in opening its border across the Sinai.

In 2005 the government of Ariel Sharon forcibly removed 8000 Israelis from 25 settlements to let the Palestinians have Gaza. Unfortunately, the Palestinians chose Hamas in 2007 in open elections and the ensuing years have turned Gaza into a hellscape.

It's interesting that the world media doesn't seem to focus much on how and why Hamas even came to such power in the Gaza. It was none other than Netanyahu who pitted Hamas against Abbas and the PLO because he did not want Palestinian independence. And Netanyahu horribly miscalculated as Hamas was able to overcome the PLO in influence and power among Palestinians.

Oh well, I'm SURE those nice Hammas guys will jump up and release everyone now that those people in Japan said for them to.

A very complicated and delicate situation.

Palestinians all they want is their land back... And they have THE RIGHT to fight for .,...

But they don't have the right to start mass-executing civilians in the streets and their homes and at festivals. Now those of them that did this are the bad guys, and they've wiped out a lot of pro-Palestinian sentiment world-wide overnight.

@Strangerland civilian causalies are not accepted on both sides ,,but the last decate the most cosalitiese are on the palistian side ...

Hamas just brought that number equal overnight.

As I've said, they have destroyed a significant portion of sympathy for the Palestinian cause with their terrorist attack.

“All they want is their land back.”

… and to kill as many Jews as possible in the process. “No man, no problem”

I don't think Mandela or Gandhi ordered a hit on anybody, but I could be mistaken.

Mandella and Ghandi executed civilians in their homes, streets, and at festivals? Are you sure?

As I understand it (which to be fair, isn't that well), Ghandi is known for peaceful resistance. Literally the opposite of what Hamas just did.

I would attend a Stand-with-Palestine rally...

Numer of Palistinian civilians killed in the last dicate out numbers by far israeli civilians causalities( ...An other question is what is difinition of 'Civilians'..if you expropriate my land, that you wear a militiry uniforme or factory uniform doesn't matter for me you are a SETTLER...

Yeah. A week ago, I, like much of the world had a lot of sympathy for the Palestinians. But then they went and mass-executed Israeli civilians in the streets in one of the most horrendous terrorist attacks in history.

They wiped out a significant portion of pro-Palestinian sentiment overnight.

If they had gone the Ghandi route of peace, things would be much different.

Ghandi proves you wrong, as he staged a peaceful resistance, and gained independence for India. You probably should have left him out of this conversation.

So, Hamas and many Palestinians don’t want to kill Jews because they’re Jews? What excuse would you offer for the barbarism Hamas demonstrated? What’s next? Denial? (Yes, Hamas is already denying the slaughter they themselves videoed and put on the Net.)

The Palestinians cannot cross their own land without passing through checkpoints and showing ID. They are an occupied nation. I would imagine that being oppressed alone is enough of a reason for terrorists to want to terrorize the way they have.

After all, there are plenty of other Muslims in the world who aren't mass-executing Israeli citizens in the streets.

It is surprising how patient Palestinians. It is less surprising how this has encouraged Netanyahu and the Zionist right to further provoke Palestinians, to send armed forces into the holiest of Mosques in Jerusalem, to allow a government Minister to deliberately provoke Palestinians by leading armed forces into that Mosque.

The people to blame for this invasion is Netanyahu, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and their associates. Hamas were pushed over the edge.

Hamas will not be destroyed by Netanyahu. In fact the opposite will happen as Netanyahu bombs will recruit more fighters for Hamas.

Is it true babies were beheaded? It seems likely it never happened. Denials are starting to come in. It is certainly true that women, children, babies are blown to pieces along with their homes.

It is unfortunate many people, people at a festival have been killed, but violence breeds violence.

There are many good Jewish people in Israel, and they have been protesting against many of the actions of Netanyahu's current government. It is unfortunate that they have to suffer along with the Zionists and other extremists.

The “oppressed” card is played - a very traditional Leftist gambit.

I would imagine…

I’m sure you could.

At least spell Mandela and Gandhi correctly please.

It's funny how you liberals throw around names without knowing much (or anything) about these people.

Stick to name calling Trump.

Right on the money.

This Hamas attack is nothing like the 9/11 attacks.

This is immeasurably worse, agreed.

My understanding is at least up until recently journalists could visit Gaza. How about not murdering or kidnapping every journalist you can get your hands on and maybe get your story out peacefully?

After all, there are plenty of other Muslims in the world who aren't mass-executing Israeli citizens in the streets.

It is also impossible to leave Gaza without Israeli permission which condemns many Gazans to live in poverty.

Israel condemns the Palestinians to a bare minimum survival existence.

View and compare the cityscape of Gaza and Tel Aviv to see the difference of wealth.
