Yachiyo Fuchigami, 64, left, and her husband Koji, 62, feed their pet dog they brought to the Tokai University gymnasium used as an evacuation center in Minamiaso, one of the towns hit hardest by a series of recent earthquakes in Kumamoto Prefecture. Yachio broke her arm when a bookshelf fell on top of it as the quake struck in her sleep in the early hours of Saturday.

One of the problems in such a disaster is when authorities insist that families leave their pets behind - an unkind and unnecessary command. How good that this isn't the case here, though I know that a lot of pets have been left behind.

Nice photo. No matter how difficult the circumstances they are in, as long as you have each other nothing else matters. It sends a great message to everyone showing what unity is all about.

In spite of hard circumstances now in Kyushu area, this is really nice photo!! Pet is also one of our family so we cannot leave them behind of course!!!!!
