Director Oliver Stone appears at a news conference in Tokyo on Wednesday to promote his latest film, "Snowden," which opens in Japan on Jan 27. The film tells the story of former CIA and National Security Agency (NSA) insider Edward Snowden who exposed the vast scope of U.S. digital intelligence gathering. Stone said he regards Snowden, who currently lives in Moscow, as a patriot and hero. Stone, 70, has warned of his country's desire to "control the world" by eavesdropping on the entire planet and says American people should be worried about mass surveillance.© Japan Today
