Stone talk

Director Oliver Stone appears at a news conference in Tokyo on Wednesday to promote his latest film, "Snowden," which opens in Japan on Jan 27. The film tells the story of former CIA and National Security Agency (NSA) insider Edward Snowden who exposed the vast scope of U.S. digital intelligence gathering. Stone said he regards Snowden, who currently lives in Moscow, as a patriot and hero. Stone, 70, has warned of his country's desire to "control the world" by eavesdropping on the entire planet and says American people should be worried about mass surveillance.

Of all his well-known movies, my favorite is one of his most underrated- Talk Radio. I throw in the DVD every 2-3 years. Heck, I may watch it tonight.

The man who changed the world. America's biggest...

I can't read the rest of it so I guess I'll have to see the movie!!

Stone's oeuvre has done much to educate his countrymen on the dangers that threaten their democracy. His efforts have unfortunately fallen on millions of deaf ears more attuned to the siren music of the Right and the fatuous, frantic tweeting from Trump. One day his contribution may be recognized with the award of a PMF bestowed by the first woman POTUS.

Movies come out in Japan so late in the last few years, this is already out on blu-ray and DVD overseas.

I'm actually surprised that this movie is even being released here in Japan.

This may be true for most, but not all. The American made movie Resident Evil: The Final Chapter has already played in Japan. We don't get to see it in the US until Jan 27.

If you are at all familiar with his message, then you would not be blaming it only on the right and Trump. The left and Obama are also threats - a point that is made in the movie.
