how does this do anything for shoplifting?!?

they would have done better to show people in jail, crying in front of police, locked up, etc. than smiling celebrities.

Thank You - - Please put it in Seven 11, fAMILY mART, Surkus, Pm Am because everytime I go tho these stores. I am followed by the store clerks. I have used these stores for 1 year. And still they follow me around and check if I am stealing something. Message to Sarge: The majority of shoplifting goes to Japan citizens. A small fraction of foreigners steal. Sorry to burst your bubble sargey.

Japanese Teenagers especially 20 year olds -- are doing most of these crimes. Usually, the the group of hoodlums roll in packs. One to distract the clerk, and the others ransack the place.

At least they didn't chose Kitty-chan as their anti-shoplifting mascot. In Australia they use life size cut-outs of cops to deter shoplifting. In Japan, the life size cut outs are standing in front kobans. Oh, hang on, they may be real?

Sarge - Foreigners are already considered guilty, hence the fingerprinting when they enter the country!

I think you will find a large proportion of shoplifters are the OAP's. They are renowned for purchasing a few items and slipping something else in their bag. It has been highlighted on TV many times. They generally get away with a slap on the wrist for their crimes.

As for the posters, how is this supposed to prevent shoplifting is anyone's guess. Did they have a few thousand yen to burn before the end of the fiscal year I wonder.

The criminal told police "I decided to shoplift because if i got caught, I knew I'd meet Akina Minami, and she would give me some words of wisdom" He also told police he often stole some panties from a 2nd floor apartments, but the police never decided to use such a cute girl to prevent these crimes.

white pockey, a few thousand yen is like 30 or 40 bux. idols in japan are exactly that, idolized, its different than celebrities, people really try to be like them and i dont just mean in some bs behavioral analysist way, i mean poeple in japan really try to be exactly like them. thats why that singer idol person that was arested recently is all over the news and losing all her sponsors and gigs and stuff. most shoplifting in japan is done by middleschoolers, theres been a recent trend with really old people tho... i cant really explain that one tho
