ebi-san....dipped horizon. funny man

Canon 20D (yeah, antique by today's standards, but still kicking hard). Raw file (.cr2) and many hours in Photoshop adjusting colours (I was shooting fur a Velvia-like look). It's a single shot, with no added (copy pasted) elements. This image's purpose was to be printed really large (A2), therefore the dipped horizont adds to the perspective.

Good pic. I wonder what camera was used and what the settings were, also if a filter was used. Anyone know?

Personally, I don't like those exaggerated and unrealistic colours. At sunset the sky is a completely different colour, never that oversaturated blue.

Can't some people just enjoy a beautiful picture without "pulling it to pieces" ?

Nojimazaki, is a great spot. In summer, the Boso Peninsula is a really cool place to go cycling, see festivals, go to the beach, etc. Love the place!

Well,I guess you're right :) . Yes,I have spent a good part of my childhood in darkrooms (some of them even improvised in tiny toilets). Indeed, digital makes things easier to fix nowadays.

ebisen-san: He also used a full plate camera using the film negative directly on the paper. Most uses here are in the digital age and things are easy to adjust. Personally, he would have arched the centre of the paper to bring it into alignment. Have you ever been in a real darkroom by chance? Lots of fun, and in Japan, the materials are still readily available. I made a positive comment about your jpg. thoughts yesterday on the other picture. Please view.

JapanGal, Henry-Cartier Breson always insisted on printing the whole surface of the exposed film: margins, lens flaws, warts and all. He had a reason for this...

I like today's more than yesterday's - spectacular colours in the clouds of contrasting weather conditions distant over the water further contrasting with encroaching darkness where we see all this.

Great picture with one flaw. The Horizon has a dip in it. If you use the perspective filter in Photshop you can easily make it a straight line.
