I am trying to get my university students to image up like these people but they are SO CONSERVATIVE, preferring the country T-shirt hanging out of their baggy pants look. I wonder if the far one on the right with his tongue hanging out does that all of the time. It is a WAY to get people to look at you. Better than tattoos I dare say.

Well they show a bit more originality than Lady Gaga.

Looks like somebody cut up some kimonos and yukatas then, sewed the pieces back together indiscriminately...

LOVE IT!!!!

Space cadet needs to make way for shotgun samurai. Down in front, moonbeam.

I agree with sillygirl. And I didn't recognize Sensei there in the center in that get-up! I like her better with her light brown hair and her ribbon...

Now girls, if you dress like Riisa Naka and go on the train, I dare say that you will NOT have any more trouble getting a seat, or having to put up with gropers, just as long as you bring along the plastic shotgun-thingee. Heck, you might end up having the whole flippin car to yourself too! Good advice and for FREE!

"if you dress like Riisa Naka and go on the train, I dare say that you will NOT have any more trouble getting a seat"
I dare say if you aren't old or disabled and get on a train or a bus with Riisa Naka and sit in a priority seat, you will have trouble keeping it!

Hey 鼠, The one on the far right is portraying Kikuchiyo from the movie. Not Mifune's best role, but memorable nonetheless. On the left - Katsushiro. Next - Kyuzo. Beside Riisa-chan is the character Kanbe Shimada, the first of the seven, in Shimura's finest outside of Gojira.

Trick or treat.

I like the ironic expression on the face of the guy on the left.

I would invite all five of these people to my home for dinner.

I'd love to get paid the same money for 'designing' outfits like these. all the pop-culture/historical references I have at my fingertips would ensure at least an autumn and spring collection...depending how dumb sponsors/desperate actors are I might even be able to stretch another season out of it! woot

One must admit that the variations of the clothing is staggering to someone like myself that is a Cdn with little knowledge of Japan.

These costumes are good enough for a Ziggy Stardust comeback. All David Bowie fans still regard Kansai Yamamoto as a fashion god for designing Ziggy's wardrobe....38 years ago (gulp!).

The girl is carrying a musket???
