Jiyugaoka Sweets Ambassador Ai Aoki, former Japan synchronized swimmer, crawls out from a house made of sweets in Tokyo's Jiyugaoka district, on Tuesday. The three-meter-tall house is made of a total of about 3,000 pieces of cakes, cookies, macarons and bread. It stands in front of a station for the Jiyugaoka Sweets Festa 2016 event to promote the area which is studded with many confectionery stores.

Maybe a few families in Tohoku can use it after the "event" is finished?

Golden Week always features such fascinating and worthwhile public events.

Is this the Japanese version of a gingerbread house?
Fuben
Probably. What could be better than having baguettes on the roof? Good for a rainy day...

Look at some of the companies allowed to sponsor the Olympics. Shameful

I would feel much better if these were NOT "real" food products... (Will it just melt if it rains ?)

Some Japanese in Tokyo live in a smaller apartment (mansion) than this candy house. If the view is good and rent cheap (or free) -then why not. If hungry you can always eat your house. Maybe even the NHK fee hounds will not find you in candy house.

She can be my sweetie anytime.

She's not really ALL THAT. Looks like she's just trying to copy an old Katy Perry vid.

I bet she found that "crawl" easier to perform

I get the lollies, cakes etc but baguettes seem out of place in a 'sweets house'.

her in that position...gets a man thinking
Jimizo
I'd rather live in this house in the middle of winter than watch synchronized swimming.

her in that position doesn't get a man thinking about sweets though

Screw you moderator. Who the hell are you besides another Hitler trying to stifle our free speech? You're not even moderating; just harassing those you don't like. Even when I modify my comments you continue to delete them for different reasons. That's not moderating; that's called power harassment, which is illegal under Japanese law. That's what my lawyer said. By the way, we are keeping all of your emails so that when we do take you to court, and we will, everything will be out in the open. So go ahead: banned me from the discussion. You can do it for 24 hours or you can do it permanently. I can always make a new account. Idiot.
