That would be like comparing a Toyota Hiace to a Semi-trailer.

Both are good at their designed purpose, but not in the same class.

And the BIG, crazy story is that BA have placed orders there for, no not Airbus, but 200 737 MAX. Why?

Sure, if you only need the payload capacity of a C-130 Hercules. The only thing the C-17 and C-2 have in common is that they both designed to carry cargo.

Like BeerDeliveryGuy said, the C2 is a fine plane for what it does, but it's like comparing apples and oranges. The C-17 is a heavy lift plane while the C2 has a max payload 100,000 pounds less. I wouldn't call that a 'better buy'.
