Despite of being a multinational corporation all the western Sony executives seems to be conveniently missing. Need see all Sony CEO's lined up manning up and do a proper Mishima style apology after a cataclysmic gaffe such as this one.

bows to apologize is overrated. harakiri is the way to go.

Lost points on the choreography, the right side exec not bowing down enough. Do you bow again for poor bowing??? Are there different types of loser bows? What, say, would be the difference if this were TEPCO and friends? Or mass killers? Doesn't matter. These are utterly meaningless when everyone is a screwup.

cyan77 -- nonsense. "The western Sony executives" as you phrase it, know this bowing thing works only in Japan, and, as a result is better executed by Japanese. The western execs are busy doing actual damage repair and trying to solve the problem, rather than just following some presecibed and meaningless PR ritual/process. You see folks outside of Japan are expecting results, and fast, or did you miss that the U.S. Congress wants answers by Friday?

In any civilized world, if an organization makes a mistake, the boss is held accountable and they must publicly admit that they didn't meet customer expectations. Takes the credit for successes, but apparently not failures or faux pas. I say the execs true colours are showing like a neon light. Let them take the rap as well.
