I went to see this movie yesterday. It was good. It's a good movie "Better Than the Third movie " (Rise of the Machines) It stuck to the story line and a digital Arnold S. appears in this movie. It's pretty good. The actor who played " Marcus " Terminator is a good actor. I recommend you to see it.

pathat -- "find better looking Japanese women any old day"? Possibly true, but that is the problem. They may look good, but, the vast majority are "all show and no go". While I'll bet Miss Bloodgood is not.

No more blond hair, no more 'roids, hell, Kazuhiro Kiyohara is starting to look human again.

Miss Bloodgood is pretty hot, but it's easy to find better looking Japanese women any old day.

By the way, I went to the Lalaport Toyosu cinemas last weekend. I noticed that the Terminator: Salvation banner had a misspelling. According to IMDB and Wikipedia, it should be "Sam Worthington".

If you want a good Terminator movie watch the 1st and 2nd. Stay away from this one. I did not care about the characters. I Wanted more terminators which I did not get. Meh.

Actually Moon Bloodgood is pretty ok in the movie. The movie is not bad, remember the sequel of the storyline the director had to work with.

CNN reviewed it as a pale movie in comparison to the T1 and T2 sequels. As for Bale, his performance was obscured by the machines´s talents. eheh.

indeed. so much for the japanese being interested in all things foreign. seems to be a bit like the press turn up to take pictures of the celebrity (if female, ask obligatory questions about their sex life/marriage) and the promotions company hope that the audience might happen to notice the name of the film on the posters in the background

makes me wonder whether or not it's necessary. after all, it seems to be the tactic the promotion companies always use, but perhaps if they didn't, people might still take notice?? or am i clutching at straws, here?

The theaters at Lalaport Toyosu are supposed to be the best in Tokyo. If I knew it was happening, I would have stopped by last night to see "batman" and certainly Ms Bloodgood who looks very...hot

These movie premiere's in Japan really are hopeless. The last one was the idiotic A4B28C little girls (or whatever they were) at the Star Trek premiere. Now we have some random sportsperson of all people turning up at Terminator. How ludicrous can you get?

What's the problem with Japan? For a premier you get a famous movie theater and lay a red carpet leading up to the entrance. Limousines bring lots of famous people to come and watch the movie and they pose on the red carpet. As they come out they say how much they loved the movie and hang out with the stars of the movie. It's easy.

You don't get some fast fading sports star or one minor group of silly little girls... that's pathetic. The premiere for Slumdog Millionaire was also useless. Of all things, they wheeled on some tonkatsu to eat because katsu also means win and it was hoped it would win the Oscar. So ridiculous.

Bale, in a nod to Kiyohara, said watching “Terminator Salvation” was like the thrill you get from watching an exciting baseball game

The distributors in Japan must have already decided it will be a flop as they have spared no expense.... Kiyohara as the Japanese celebrity AND "premiere of the film at LaLaport in Tokyo"

neverknow2 - Of course foreigners are not good enough! They can't be trusted when they say something is good. Only a Japanese celebrity who is paid to be there can be expected to tell the truth!

Yes, I want character development in action movies, too. In fact, the very best action movies, such as "Die Hard," "Speed," "Lethal Weapon," and the first "Robocop," do have believable characters. You see their faces and you know their story and then you can enjoy the action rollercoaster ride much more. In "Terminator Salvation," the villains are faceless robots on motorbikes and in copters etc, and the human resistance characters are mainly one-dimensional. That's why I said it resembled a video game.

Anyway, that's fun for some audiences. Enjoy it.

What is the Japanese man doing there? I know he's some kind of baseball player, but THEY are huge stars. I bet they've never even heard of him. Still this is japan. Japanese prob wouldn't go and see the movie if he wasn't there.

i definitely going to see this one. as for the character development, i have no idea how much character development some people want to see on the 4th film. you got 3 earlier film already. Wasn’t that enough of character development for the main characters?

I havent seen it yet. not a good enough copy in Bit Torrent yet and it doenst open in Japan till next week.

I think it's queer. It's seems they are saying that foreigners are not good enough. But if a Japanese person stands up there with them, then the movie must be OK.

herefornow: Unless I see Schwarzenegger himself is endorsing this film, I won't be seeing it no matter how many J-celebs appear. Would rather rewatch Terminator 2.

cadmium - Might be down to the sheep mentality. Possibly if a famous Japanese person wasn't endorsing the film, a lot of Japanese wouldn't pay attention to it. But if they see some talento/idol/has-been baseball player there, they think "Ah, this must be good!" and go to see it.

Saw the movie recently and didn't like it at all. Way too much action and not enough on character development. It was like playing a video game. Five minutes of mindless action, one minute of dialogue, five minutes of action, one minute of dialogue. I don't think any character says more than three consecutive sentences of dialogue.

Moon Bloodgood is a total babe. She just might make this Schwarzenegger-less Terminator movie worth seeing.
