this reminds me of what our japanese colleagues call us when we "swan" in on a head office visit to Japan
pigeons, flying around, making lots of noise, @#$tting all over the place!
Just kidding (mostly), I like gulls. It's nice seeing them where they belong, which is on the beach/near the water, whereas in my US hometown they roam the city streets. Nice photo!
That beach, while picturesque, has signs forbidding swimming(pollution). Still, I like Odaiba for it's sweeping views of Tokyo Bay and for the Yurikamome train that gets you there.
goddog-- I guess I was mostly referring to the ones back home, who don't even hang out near the water. Instead they hang out in parking lots and eat food. That's not really their faults, but regardless, everyone in my town calls 'em sky rats (plus we don't have a lot of pigeons where I am either).
These aren't rats with wings, these are the nice type of gulls!
These are Yurikamome (Black headed gull in English?) which only come here in the winter. The rat-like noisy ones are Umineko, the ones that squawk all the time!!

They are lucky that the Canadian Goose are not trying to take over the same beach. For believe me their droppings are so much larger.

Sorry that should read Canadian Geese & not "goose"

Don't know which is worse, seagulls or crows?

JT nearly always has birds in its picture of the day? I like the one on the left.

Good shot... thanks.

Gulls are not skyrats, that is preserved for pidgins.
Gulls are good for the oceans. They clean it up.
