Australian actor Hugh Jackman and Japanese actress Ayame Goriki attend the Japan premiere of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" at Roppongi Hills Arena in Tokyo on Tuesday night. In the film, directed by Bryan Singer and starring Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence, the X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants. Goriki supplies the voice for the character of Raven/Mystique, played by Academy Award winner Lawrence, in the dubbed Japanese version. Jackman said that although he has been playing Wolverine for 14 years, this film felt like a new beginning for him. He also said the cast was the best he had ever worked with. The film opens in Japan on May 30.

And Hugh came all the way here to watch the movie? A true superhero!

Although Goriki is nice to look at, I really wish they would do away with dubbing over here.

Her neck almost like bull neck. Healthier than willowy neck. No photoshop?

Oh WOW, she's VERY easy on the eyes! Cute 'girl next door' looks with nice legs, can't go wrong with that combo.

I agree wholeheartedly. While I an certainly understand the appeal it might have for those who might not like to "read" their movies, dubbing has never done justice to the films it's employed in. Linguistic nuances and emotion couched in carefully written, directed, and delivered dialogue are all but lost when put through the dubbing process, leaving the final product a pale imitation of the original.
Dubbing damages the integrity of a film's story.
Okay, I'll allow it for old Chinese kung fu films from the 70s. But that's where I draw the line. :-)
X-Men:DoFP is going to be fun. Can't wait for it to open.

The only movies that should be dubbed are the old Shaw Brothers Kung Fu grindhouse flicks. Mainly because they improved by adding a layer of comedy to an already hilarious film.

Dubbing is "shoganai" for non-english speaking countries. Just ignore it. In Japan, they always have the original version showing somewhere else if not in the same cinema complex. One time I saw Indiana Jones in Spanish while in spain. It was kind of funny:)
X-men films have been great so far. I hope this one is even better.

Is that a Sentinel on the back?... I wonder if Nimrod is gonna be featured in the movie (haven/t seen it yet)...
