Yes, I agree. it is so romantic atomsphere and beautiful LED light. I really admire japan's eco-system as such as japanese gardens. Beautiful!! one day I hope to fly to Japan.. It is my dream since when I was 8 years old.. :)

I think this picture is ok. Some reason it doesn't "hit" me though, maybe I'm too used to photoshopped works lol.

On a side note JT, can you get some food pics up sometimes? I dunno, I'm a gastrophile and it's been a long time since I've seen some Japanese cuisine. Just mix and match between scenery, models/talent, and such.

Need something that makes my mouth water when I look at it. Not just purty girl pics :p

This is not eco friendly. Just think how low they could put the aircons if they didn't need the energy to light up pretty scenes.

And mod what happened to the Aug 1st pic of the whales? Everyone had good comments about that one.

I have several comments:

Nice picture

These LEDs will increase the temperature of the earth. Is Japan really set on to preserving the nature and stopping the "chikyu ondanka" - I doubt it.

The woman made a beautiful ribbon with her obi. Good taste.

Nice couple. I'm not sure which type of garden/park I like more.

Type one: like this one, nice to look at, but you can't walk on the grass or anything.

Type two: not so nice to look at, but you can spread out a big blue tarp and knock back a few, no prob.

What's amazing about this photo is that they are alone in Tokyo doing this. Normally you'd have all of those wooden benches filled up to the max. I guess they picked their spot and planned it long ago to avoid the crowds. Smart couple.

Did they bring their own seat?

Take a closer look, they are not alone.

Nice picture though, even if it did take a lot of power to light it up.

Looking at this beautiful ,romantic ,tranquil picture I realise how much I miss those magic fireflies from my childhood. Human activities killed" all" fireflies so now they have to settle with led on the grass...

I might be wrong but I think I see a group of people in the background.

Nevertheless a very nice picture.

So romantic picture.. pity that the fireflies are artificial...

This is a totally staged picture, as most pictures are. You guys really think some guy was strolling through a park in tokyo and came across a perfect couple with perfectly placed sandals with NOBODY around? The photographer likely told everybody to clear out for the shot.

Not saying it's a bad shot, but in reality, unless a photo is a sports/action picture or a paparazzi picture, its likely staged to some degree.

I would go so far as to say shame. If I go there, it will think of that so much I will most likely forget to notice the "beauty" of the LEDs.

These LEDs will increase the temperature of the earth.

No. That will depend on how the power was generated. It was probably nuclear, and no climate change associated. I doubt even the same power used for just 3 or 4 LED traffic lights was used anyway. Must be thousands of those in Tokyo, running 24 hours every day of the year. And LEDs use less power than old fashioned bulbs. Even with this park addition to city power, I think we are still saving many yen.

And kilowatts.

I see that couple be fannin' themselves with those uchiwa fans. I never use those things. When it's hot, I delicately pat my forehead and face with a blue hanky. Tee hee!
