The dress is pretty awful. Marc Jacobs "style" is contrived at best. Ayu looks sweet though.

It is a horrible ruffled collar. I only like the cream color and without the red hair and bronzed skin you couldn't pull off the look. Ayumi sells it well and hopefully it is a one-off. Without the smile forget it --> most people will be miserable wearing this. Ayumi did a very good job promoting this because the look is difficult.

The bottom of the dress is hip, stylish and cool.

She looks good, the outfit less so.

Dude, Ayumi Hamasaki was one of the biggest pop artists in Asia for like 10 years running. She still holds a record in Japan for most #1 singles and single releases. O_o

Yeah Some14some AKB48 could only dream to achieve her level of success. They are not even in the same league.

Sorry but the outfit is hideous and does not flatter her, nor does the photograph which makes it look like she has man-hands. And, would it kill her to act more like a 35-year old woman rather than a 15-year old girl when posing? She's attractive and acting a little more maturely wouldn't diminish that attractiveness at all. It would likely add to it.

Ayu STILL rocks "the girl next door looks". Cutie looks work well with her and she doesn't have to try and look the part. Hard to believe she's 35.

If by skilled you mean able to find good plastic surgeons then yes, certainly Ayumi is very skilled. Check out some earlier photos of her and you'll see what I mean -- though you might need to take off your rose-tinted glasses.
