Well, finally Toyota produced something that looks dayum good. That's a great looking boat. Perhaps they are in the wrong industry. This is a really nice picture. It's not for the 9 to 5ers unfortunately. Bit of a tease isn't it.

Acrowe, there is no way that boat could cost as much as their SUVs as ur suggesting. I guess u missed the point of it accommodating 12 people. Thats double what my house can and its on sea! But ya, at first instinct it feels steep, but when one thinks about it, its worth every yen. Hopefully in 10 years i can retire early on that boat.

eh!? Still doesn't seem right....I assume the '35' means it's a 35-footer? That's a pretty high price for a boat that size.

One did say that I can hold 12 people for cruising(no mention of sleep accomodation).

The boat's length is 11.95 meters.

The number after the boat name is the length. The Ponam 45 is 45 ft. etc.

The 12 is undoubtedly for cruising, not sleeping. It might sleep 4 (can't find that info though). In many of these boats, you can lower the dining table to bench height and then use cushions on it to sleep.

Don`t forget people - for boat owners you have to put aside about 10% of the purchase price for maintenance, per year. For this one, perhaps 5% as it is smaller and you do not need a crew. Anything larger than this and 10% it is.

I looked at bigger boats then this in Florida this past summer and none were that pricey at all. Total rip off and a sucker punch price. Boating is terrible in Japan anyway. Few marinas and very costly...and fuel...ouch.

Agree with JapanGal. This boat has the same chintzy look as a SeaRay, and while I don't know the boat's details as well as I should before saying this, it seems way overpriced. If you want to get into boating, it's a buyer's market right now so go out and get a used Bertram, Hatteras, Albemarle, Tiara, etc. Refined, built to last and classically beautiful.And boating in Japan absolutely sucks in my opinion. I've done it a bit here and considerably in the US.

The cost of fuel makes a motorboat an expensive ride! I have a 41 foot sailboat that uses about 4 liters an hour, my neighbor across the dock uses 100 liters an hour in his 35 foot Cabo Rico sport fisherman. Yeah that's right 100 litres an hour! The pictured Toyota is a single engine boat and should use around 60 litres per hour. Having any kind of maintenance done on a boat here in Japan is astronomical, providing you can even find a mechanic. But once you get past all these hurdles, I enjoy sailing in this part of the world.

Having a boat in Japan is just good to stay in your marina. There aren't enough here, so you are stuck in yours. Yanmar makes really good boat engines. Just look inside this kitchen, there is no protection to cook whilst at sea. The interior looks very old fashioned. I can't understand why Japan doesn't manage to make decent boats. Prefer sailing yachts myself, it is quieter. This boat is just good to brag for new-riches at a party in the marina and go fishing on Lake Hamanako.

The boys at Top Gear already made something similar out of a Hilux which they dubbed as a 'Toyboata'.

My husband loves sailing, and it has always been my dream (after I have finally got my s$#% together and earned some decent money for myself) to surprise him with a boat.......but it looks like I am going to have to do a lot more than simply get my s$$% together if the prices are along those lines!

That's about $780,000 for that boat. It's nice but 99% of people couldn't pay cash for it or even afford to make payments on it.

Don't forget the mooring fees for when you're not motoring on the the high seas, berths at marinas are not cheap...

wanderlust, it depends which marina you put your boat in. In Hakodate it is Yen 20,000 per year in the water.

Owning a boat like this is a keeping many mistresses happy. Very expensive to maintain.LOL

@foxie - Hayama Marina in Kanagawa charges about 2,000,000/ year for a waterside berth for a 35 foot boat, and around double for the deposit!

The price of the yacht is quite reasonable. An Egg Harbor or Hatteras of the same size cost over $1,000.000. Only a covered well in the marina would suit this little charmer..

5900 man yen it is big money I can buy a House ( Yamnote line) for that in Tokyo... I want to see the inside of the Yacht...
