They look like guys.
Gurukun
She's Russian?
some14some
looks like even Russian wants to lift her arm but referee is forcibly holding it down !

Not looking like a guy would be a serious disadvantage in wrestling. Looks like the Russian was beaten pretty handily. She looks exhausted and ... bloodied... Hitomi looks ready for her next match.
CoolCali
You look human, I don't hear anyone complaining.... yet.
Undoubtedly from Siberia or somewhere in the far eastern area, perhaps near the Chinese or Mongolian border. They don't all have fair skin and blue eyes.

"celebrates" ?

Couple of babes, love to wrestle both of them!!

Hitomi s got a nice athletic body. Oorzhak is definately a bit stocky and x chromosomed.

Having been a Certified Amateur Wrestling Coach for around 15 yrs it is nice to hear about this honest to gosh sport that is not only World Championship, but it can be open to other countries of closed to parts of some countries like Provinces in Canada and is held in the Olympics Games during the summer.
Sakamoto looks enthused, but only because someone is holding her arm up while the Russian gal looks pooped out. Yet knowing about the above sports it can be exhausting to competitors that put in their best be they a winner of looser. Obviously both went all out to win in their weight class.

Wrestling has always had an erotic (homo-erotic) undertone.... Seeing tight bodied but somewhat masculine ladies wrestling is odd...
Junnama
I wrestled, so I know how tough it is.
Gurukun
I agree that wrestling is one of the most grueling sports around. I did it for 4 years in high school too. We actually had a womens team that did pretty good as well. But, I don't remember them required to where athletic cups. Is this mandatory for women now?
bass4funk
Recently, Japan is doing real good in the sport, they are really moving up, having wrestled in High School, I know how tough it is. Way to go Japan.
@Gurukun- Russia has always historically been a multi-cultural society, you have Russians that are Muslims, Asians, dark-skinned, White Muslims, just about everything.
Gurukun
bass4funk and coolcali-thanks for the enlightenment. I just had the image that Russian women were all tall and beuatiful. Just a bad stereotyping on my part. Thanks!
hoserfella
Junnama and bass4funk - I don't think rolling around on a mat once a week in HS gym class back in the day qualifies either of you as experts. Im sure everyone here appreciates how hard these ladies have trained without any poseur advice.
Junnama
I quite like amateur wrestling and watch it whenever on tv, but why is it any martial discipline brings out the overly-sensitive tough guys...,
Zenny11
Junnama.
Had to stop laughing. Greek/Roman wrestling, Sports Judo, Sports Karate(K1), Sports MMA(UFC), Boxing, etc are NOT martial disciplines.
They are contact sports, pain and simple they have no relation to war(martial).
Anyway, congrats to the winner and hope Japan gets some more wins.
Junnama
Sure makes sense, I was looking for the right phrase.
KaptainKichigai
Junnama its called respect for a sport. It sounds to me like its bringing out something in you. Nothing overly sensitive about it.
Junnama
No, no, someone comes and posts something snarky about soccer or baseball nobody starts getting tough and saying respect the sport. Contact sports bring out the voyeur tough guy in some people.
Sports are the toy aisle in the grocery store of life. It's not that serious.
KaptainKichigai
Its a profession. People dedicate their loves to Sports and competition. Their is no such thing as tough, good or bad. You are either trained or untrained. Their is nothing sexual abot competiton using all of your strength and endurance to defeat an opponent. Wrestling is as hard as it gets.
KaptainKichigai
change those last 2 theirs to theres
blunderbuss
...if you're a yeti.
Give me Erika Sawajiri anytime!
Junnama
Er, thanks there Kaptain.... you didn't reinforce what I was saying or anything...
sam1633
The win by Japan is very obvious when you cast an eye on the Russian female!!!!!!
KaptainKichigai
at blunderbuss- that was pretty funny. I laughed out loud last night at that one. Well, a Yeti needs love too. @junnama-i have no idea what your post means. Your opinion is-sports is on the toy aisle of life. So sports are something for children? I am saying you dont have to be tough or macho to show some respect for what people dedicate their lives too. Just because someone doesnt like to hear you badmouth wrestling or sports in general doesnt mean they have to be a"voyeur tough guy". You are projecting your insecurity and latent "homo-erotic" personality all over sports and everyone who disagrees with your lack of respect for it. My guess is, you have never been very good at sports. It doesnt mean you have to passive aggressively disrespect those who are or those who enjoy watching sports.
