My heart soars when I see the vibrant energy of our new leaders. I think the chap on the left needs a fresh battery.
Tamarama
He looks pumped.

Abe and the LDP will give a shot in the arm to certain construction companies. I expect to see more road construction!

Seriously. Roses??? I guess you guys are not aware of the symbolism, meaning and history of this flower. But this is Japan... and back to the same grind.

I'd say plump.
That Ishiba on the right gives me the creeps, the way he talks in a slow, low voice and his look.

GREAT .... at least Japan will get all it's roads resealed (again)
This will really be of a great help for all those trucks which carry all those goods, that the world no longer buys from Japan.
I am glad we can look forward to billions being spent with construction firms on "info structure" because in todays global economy, having excellent roads and bridges means having a strong, vibrant, forward looking, skilled work force based economy.
I mean, just ask India and China the number #2 and #4 economies in the world.

Now that they really did win, there's nothing to do but hopes that they can really improves Japan's economy and solves many of Japan's issues, mainly the Tohoku region.
I agree to a revision of the Constitution, to and extent. Mainly Improving the JSDF and gives them more capabilities to defend the nation and protect it's people.

Stage 1. Mainly Improving the JSDF and gives them more capabilities to defend the nation and protect it's people.
Stage 2. Drop JSDF as it is too expensive to maintain.
Stage 3. Change JSDF to a mandatory military service requirement for Japanese youth (men/women). Cheaper than JSDF.
Stage 4. Send Japanese youth to world conflicts and war.
Stage 5. China and Japan negotiation breaks down...
Stage 6. WAR
Stage 7. History will be repeated.
I am watching Japanese is just starting at Stage 1. I am not so optimistic for Japan.
JoeBigs
Agreed, but you seem to not understand that the JSDF is actually a very good military force.
Japan at this time is spending 1% of it's GDP on their military compared to the PRC 2.1%, S Korea 2.7%, Russia 3.9%, North Korea 10%.
Why?
Name a present conflict that would serve Japan's interests?
Again why?
Why
Which history 1270's, 1280's, 1890's, 1920's, 1930's, 1940's?
Funny how you how tossed out the baby with the bath water without waiting to see if the baby is truely in there.

Classic, state-of-the-art technology behind them!

My adolescent brain can only think of Newt Gunray saying "Victory". Thanks for the headline and the opportunity to amuse myself.

I hope Abe can stay PM long enough to actually do something before he is replaced.

Let's hope our new supreme leader doesn't overdo the celebrations and get a bad tummy.
