the ego has landed.

Indeed, the guy is a great runner put he is pompous and arrogant as hell.

I'm starting to like this guy, ha ha!

I,m starting to get sick of that pose..Talk about EGOCENTRIC!!! More humble More respect..
ebisen
Matthew - good for him ;) If you would run 100m under 10 seconds, you would also understand why is he like this.
nath
@ebisen, no I would not.

I do not understand why people always gotta be haters. Jesus, get a life already. He is the fastest man on the planet! A gift from God.

He is a great athlete but an absolute annoying arse. He needs to be rather more humble. Not as annoying as the in word "haters" though.
TokyoGas
Like him or hate him, he has brought a lot of excitement to the sport. Not many athletes are able to fire up a global crowd like him at the Olympics.
Baibaikin
I'm with @TokyoGas. Living with the guy might get a bit trying if he's doing the pointy pose around the house all the time, but he's the main attraction at athletics events and is doing a great job at getting people interested in sport.

Ok, winning at something gives you carte blanche to act like an annoying clown. In fact, you have a moral obligation not to remain humble. Got it.
The_True
let him live his glory, i mean coming from the getto in Jamaica and now been internationally known get into anyone head.

how i see it. BOLT: The canine star of a fictional sci-fi/action show that believes his powers are real embarks on a cross country trek to save his co-star from a threat he believes is just as real.
kurisupisu
Did he have his headphones on or off?
lostrune2
Many world-class runners could run 100m in under 10 secs, past and present.

Bolt is a cocky arrogant bastard. So what if he ran past a few meters quickly? Does he save lives? Has he made any inventions for the betterment of society? Unless your success transcends past just your own personal glory, it is quite useless in my eyes. Every year people break records at the olympics, and good for them. However, most have the common sense to be humble. He has none.
japan_cynic
I don't see what he has done that's so bad. Other than have a great talent, which obviously upsets a lot of nerds with no lives :-)

Bolt seems pretty cool to me. Pausing during an interview while the American national anthem played during one the medal ceremonies at the Olympics and playing around with some of the volunteers before the start of his races. I don't know why people take his antics so seriously.
Gurukun
Im sure he has given many children the hopes and dreams to succeed at something that can be possible with hard work and/or training. Sounds like he saves lives...in a roundabout way.
jumpultimatestars
Uh, he wasn't needed- there was a record holder before him, and before that another, and before that another. The children who need to be "given" hopes and dreams can look to any of them, all of whom were more humble and appropriate role models than this jerk.
Vernie Jefferies
He picked a good place to visit. Japanese media love this guy.

Fastest guy in the world, probably the best known athlete right now and showed haters that he's win again in London. Gee, I wonder why he's arrogant. I would be too. I actually find him very likeable in his interviews. He's also very supportive of younger Jamaican runners and athletes. Showmanship is not the same as everyday personality.
Daijoboots
I could live with that. Hey Bolt, where is that unfinished bottle of wine? Cheers. And how about a clean glass? Oh, there's one, thanks.
Resurfaced
He is nothing else but an athlete with very good turnouts. But he is arrogant and a show off. Wasnt he beat by another runner after the Olympics as a fun race. So that means he is not the fastest man on earth.... I saw it somewhere on YouTube. Ill send a link soon...

The man has maybe a decade, at most, of being in the spotlight. He is making the most of what he has in the short time he will have it. I'm sure a major part of his "attitude" is an act nurtured and encouraged by his agent and his sponsors. Attitude gets you news clips and sponsorships, not humbleness. I would bet he becomes much more humble once his time in the limelight has passed.
jumpultimatestars
To the people who say that they'd be arrogant as well in his shoes, it says a lot about the maturity level of what little character you have. Thankfully the world is full of people more generous with themselves.

I was just reading Dale Carnegie's book about how to stop worrying and it says that the more one rises to the top the more people there are to say negative things about you. Some of it comes out of jealousy --actually a lot of it. How many people actually feel the happiness that Bolt feels and just try to feel good for the guy? Very few if any. So what if he has some ego issues--we actually all have it in different ways. Being humble is fine for those who want to be that way and should be of no importance to one who is viewing another being. If somebody says he should be more humble that just means that the person would like to also be in same position and not be humble. There are so many ways to criticize people and so much easier when they are at the top. Doesn't it suck that humans have to try and bring down the king of running? Remember that game---king of the hill? You can not stay on the top of the hill forever and eventually Bolt will be taken down and while he is on the top he can do whatever he wants until that time--let him enjoy himself how he wants even if it means being a fool.
