This is the anglers' equivalent of shooting fish in a barrel. The fish are artificially raised so that people with nothing better to do than prove they're smarter than a fish can stick a hook in a fish's mouth and yank it out of the water. There's nothing at all to gambaru about around one of these places, and next to no luck involved.

I visited one near my home and I enjoyed the fishing. It's a nice break from your day. You catch them, release the fish back into the pond, wash your hands, and go back to your normal routine.

It costs 3000 yen at a similar artificial fishing facility (actually a converted eel pond) in my neighbourhood.
