Heavy equipment vehicles are seen at the site of the new national stadium, which will host the opening and closing ceremonies and track and field of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, in Tokyo, on Sunday. The Japanese government on Friday approved a 150 billion yen contract to build a new main stadium for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, a project that has been delayed by more than a year. Officials said the stadium construction would begin in December after an earlier plan was scrapped because of spiraling costs and an unpopular design.

I don't really see the heavy equipment. Maybe, way in the background, is a red crane? Mostly I see metal plates, a generator, a white truck, and maybe Mt. Fuji?

Inviting 2020 Tokyo Olympic is a waste of money for Japan. It only increases the national debts. There are many more important fields Japan has to spend the money.

If you squint your eyes, you can see one or 2 in the far back.

Seems like a lot of money, but the Japanese government seem to be very intent on holding these big sporting events now and I think for many organisers Japan is appealing because of its reputation for quality and safety. Its all designed to tie in with the big push in tourism of course as well and projecting Japan is a country that still has relevance in Asia and globally even with China's rise.

@borscht at first glance I thought the same until I opened it in a new tab and saw it was a roof lol. Docomo tower can be seen, and some heavy machines in the back ground.... some excavators.

did they resolve the lawsuit against them for stealing Zahar's plans? Or did the lawsuit die with her?
