mod - known among Japanese living abroad doesn't mean "famous abroad". Ask editors of Rolling Stone, Spin, etc who XJapan are, and I'm sure you'll get blank stares.

No, they will know who he is. He composed the musical theme sung at this year's Golden Globes, for example. It was made available for download in 111 countries by Warner Music. X Japan has also played at the Lollapalooza music festival.

Yoshiki is certainly famous outside Japan as is X-JAPAN they have sold out concerts all over Asia. Yoshiki is a brilliant multi-instrument musician and composer. Do some searching on Google and you will see how famous and respected he is.

Oh I just missed the new exhibit. I went to Trussauds last Friday. The best figure there in my opinion is the Johnny Depp. I stood there for 5 minutes waiting for him to actually move. He was too real.
