A male giant panda named Bili (in a freight box) is carried out by ground crew at a hangar upon its arrival from China, as another ground crew member, left, dressed as a giant panda, watches, at Narita international airport on Monday night. Giant pandas Xiannu and Bili flew from Shanghai to Narita International Airport to be delivered to Ueno Zoo.

At 80 million, he should have flown first class instead of cargo.

They painted an entire plane for this?? A bit over the top I think.

Japan rarely if ever misses a chance to act in an infantile manner,...........

i agree with you tokyokawasaki - i just hope they take really good care of these animals.

They should have a 20-30 year lifespan. It's freezing cold. These bears don't have adequate fur say a polar bear or brown bears do. They do not store fat like other bears.

I just hope they make it back to China after 10 years.

That's the ground crew, btw.

That Panda must have been terrified. Can you imagine how afraid it must have been during take off and landing! And what about the turbulence. Just sick. All this cruelty just so a few shallow people can shout kawaii and take a few photos.... Very depressing.

They should put that guy in a cage at Ueno Zoo. It'd be a helluva lot cheaper. Like the hat(hardhat?) by the way.

...or paw printed for that matter.

Did it get finger printed?

Well of course they needed to dress the S.O.B. in a panda suit.
