Popular model Yuri Ebihara, 32, popularly known as Ebi-chan, was a guest flight attendant earlier this week on a chartered JAL flight from Narita to Seoul. Wearing a mini-dress, Ebi-chan made announcements and interacted with the 200 passengers who were invited on the trip for free by fashion brand Samantha Thavasa. She also greeted passengers as they embarked and disembarked.

How come flight attendants never look like that whenever I fly?

You are too young. http://matome.naver.jp/odai/2126335272942193201/2126335382042303703

Wow, someone copy-pasted one of my recurring dreams!

I´d fly away with Ebi Chan any time, even with Jal.

Nice Pan Am bag.
Maitake
She can buckle my seat belt for me any time.

Nice gimmick JAL. Now for AKB 48 to be on my next flight to Seoul.

Such creepy comments on here, mind you that's why Japan Today puts pictures of pretty girls on the front page. They know their readership well.Like feminism never happened.

Nice PR stunt, and very nice looking young lady. That's not the regular JAL uniform, either.
Maitake
she looks pretty fly
Nessie
Is the mini standard? If not, deceptive advertising.

It's not like she's in the nude or anything, my friend. I'm not sure why you're against a beautiful celebrity doing PR work, as is always the case, in every country, both male and female. This morning JT had a very different picture up, and it was beautiful as well -- a shot of nature. There are at least two or more shots put up each day and they very, but some people only come on and comment when prudish values block their ability to comment objectively on social issues/celebrities. Yeah, it can get a bit overkill at times, but in this case I don't think so -- she did fly on that flight and interact with a bunch of passengers who all probably know who she is. It wasn't just some AKB48 member or race queen or something posing for a shot. If some Western sex-symbol comes to Japan to promote something and interacts with the people in order to do so, will you still complain then?
Now, if you want to talk feminism and how it is still lacking in a lot of jobs here (and in Asia besides) in general, that's another issue.

StanTheMan:
LOL, I can see who has been downrating all the messages here. Calm down, man. And by the way, feminism does not necessarily equal ugly women, as Rush Limbaugh has theorized.

Stay on topic please.

Ding Dong... as a fine British actor would say. ^_^
Guza!
lol jk, but yeah flying chartered JAL looks fun to me :)

Just as long as they had a full complement of properly trained flight attendants onboard, I see nothing wrong with this. A flight attendant has serious responsibilities that go way beyond distributing pillows and serving drinks/food. This is especially true for any flight over open water.
By the way, I'm not sure why Cactus Jack got those thumbs-down, that logo on the bag DOES look an awful lot like the old Pan-Am logo:

Fly Singapore Airlines. All the women are hotter than Shrimp-chan.
smithinjapan
StanTheMan: So what would you suggest? I'm guessing a picture of a mom cooking dinner in the kitchen wouldn't fit for you, as it shouldn't. So a successful woman is somehow not appropriate as well? Mention feminism and its dangers to this young lady and she'd rightly laugh at you -- I don't see her being abused or exploited. If it were a good looking male celebrity would you complain as much?

Come fly with me, come fly, let's fly away...

did they serve ebi-fry for inflight lunch ?

The uniform, bag seems to be a throw back to the 1960'6, 70's. And the logo on the bag does look oddly similar to PAN-AM. There was a recently cancelled TV show by the same name, PAN-AM, that was set in the 1960's. As for FLY WITH ME... seems to be it was associated with TWA in the same era. Then in the 70's you had the infamous FLY ME ads by National Airlines in 70's and I think American Airlines used it in the UK. Funny, all these airlines aren't with us anymore. AA still is but upon approval they will merge with US Air. Seems only United is left. But then Japan still treats women as western countries did in the 1960's. As for Stewardess', remember that originally the women had to be RNs to be a stewardess. End of history lesson.
supermonk7
As far as the U.S. goes... only one stewardess of the in-flight group had to be an RN... and only for international flights. Here endeth the lesson.

whats with all the down votes for nearly every comment haha. Some people on here really do take too much offensive to the slightest remarks.
