This is one of the most dangerous men on the planet. There is no way I would let him get close enough to bite my child and that is what it looks like he is about to do.

Iraqi children who died within the last ten years would end to disagree.

I really wouldn’t want you to think that I was being impolite to you in any way but I do need to ask you if you know that this man is the ruler of China? You that big country just to the left of Japan where lots and lots of people get executed and others get sent to prison when they don’t agree with this man and his friends.

That's strange. When I mentioned dead Iraqi children, my post was deleted. I really don't ever remember Wen being involved in their murder.

Grafton - Your right in a way !!!! But all rich & powerful men are dangerous !!!!

The next day, all the kids are going to make fun at that boy because " the chinese leader kissed his head " !!!! Ohhhhh, noooo !!! That boy will remember that head kissing for life !!!!

I think it's a nice photo.

The executions in China are run by bureaucrats. It's not as if Wen oversees and authorises every single one. A bit like America and the death penatly, really.

Moderator: Stay on topic please. Your reference to America and the death penalty is irrelevant.

Some people have too much time and brainwave to waste. It is a simple picture of a head of a nation greeting a boy. Don't over-analyze it.

You guys really know nothing about Wen Jiabao. If CCP ever reform politically under huge request by Chinese people, it will be made possible by men like Wen. You do know he was with students on Tiananmen 1989, right ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzJiPFMWnEA (Wen 1989) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUpcQSJ0tTE&feature=PlayList&p=92097DC32484A6D1&playnext_from=PL&playnext=1&index=20 (CNN interview)

It's a charm offensive. But Wen's visit won't calm Japan's nerves, in fact, it will have the reverse effect.

Just look at Grafton's 'childish' remarks and you can understand my point.

The child is neither Chinese or North Korean and would not have expected to have been handled by a dear leader.

I nearly spit out my coffee after reading your comment and looking at the pic again. True, as you can't see the boy's face clearly, and because of his attire, he looks a bit like a small ojisan. haha. Thanks.

grafton: “This is one of the most dangerous men on the planet.”

Correction: he's one of the most POWERFUL men on the planet. He's only dangerous to those who think him as such, and/or treat him that way. It's the same with any powerful leader, really, and not exclusive to Wen.

Anyway, I think it's a cute pic, and this is the kind of thing we should see more from leaders. Some of you seem to think he should be simply standing their while the kids salute him obediently or something, which I would rather not see.

It's a cute picture - kind of like a campaigning politician kissing babies. A memorable moment for these kids.

Wen is the #2 guy in China, visiting Japan and other nations. Does the USA have a VP? What happened to him?

Nobody gets to the top of the heap in China by being a Mr. Nice guy. So think what it must have taken for him to have got where he is today. What I fine childish is the way a suit and tie can fool the naïve into believing this man is anything other than a seriously nasty bit of work. Just wait for the next Tiananmen type situation and see what happens and keep in mind this man had a part to play in Tibet’s problems last year. Yes, I am sure he is ever such a nice man, he loves cats, dogs and children, he just not that fond of Chinese people that might want a free country. Ask the people at google.
