Disney teen star Selena Gomez, 18, waves with Japanese "talent" Yukina Kinoshita, 23, during a meet-and-greet fans event in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo, following a special preview of the first episode of the new season of the TV series "Wizards of Waverly Place."

Somebody feed that poor child. She looks sick.

Looks like Gomez is giving her a karate chop

I suffered from anorexia and it almost killed me. I am a catalogue model and when my friends got more offers than me I thought I had to lose weight to get the jobs. Yukina doesn't eat enough, that's for sure. And I can tell why..

She is so beautiful and so talented that she puts many Japanese entertainers in a pile of scrap.

I hear this series is pretty darn tootin' enjoyable, and Selena is not only pretty but is a pretty darn tootin' good actress!

From what I've seen of Selena Gomez, she is a class act and carries herself well. Like other posters here, I too hope she doesn't go the road of so many child and teen actors like Miley Cyrus who started out really nice and sweet, but has recently been projecting an inflated ego of herself and been seeming very arrogant in recent interviews I've seen of her. I won't even talk about other druggies like Lindsey Lohan and MacCaulay Culkin.

Who? is it even worth to find out who this so called "star" is next to this "talent"

WilliB: "Yukina Kinoshita looks anorexic."

I don't know if I'd say anorexic, but the bags under her eyes, slumped over shoulders, massive lines from nose to mouth (that only get worse with age), lack of chest, and neck that looks like she's from Alien makes me wonder why so many are criticizing Gomez and asking for pics of Yukina only. No wonder she's insecure about her new husband.

shogun36 -- Thanks, you confirmed my suspicion. You are like most J-guys who want to just see nothing but, as Ivan puts it, girls who are:

all squeaking the same asinine dross and making cutesy poses in a school uniform. But you can get that anytime you want at any combini magazine rack or hundreds of other web sites. Please let us long-time ex-pats at least occassionally get a picture of a real woman, so we don't forget what they look like, here on JT.

Yukina Kinoshita looks anorexic. Give her some of the Burgers that Ebi-chan used to advertise.

Boring, boring, boring. If you go back and check JT's archives we can see countless pointless uninteresting talento here. Yawn.

Person on the left sure looks more confident and in control of herself.

Gomez: "Here's an example of a complete dolt; someone who marries a 40 year old while full of doubts and threats. Good job, idiot".

From what I've seen, Ms. Gomez appears to be a very savy, talented, lovely (by American standards) well adjusted young lady. Let's just hope she doesn't turn down the same path as Miley Cyrus and Lindsay Lohan. Lohan especially has become a real train wreck these days - so sad.

put Yukina on a strict double cheeseburger diet and she'll look great

Re: the photo

We have somebody on the left, and nobody on the right.

Yukina is suddenly all over JT :0

@herefornow

If I wanted to see pictures of "budding women" such as Gomez (I am curious as to what your definition of budding is,) I would have checked out another site.

the differences between Selena Gomez and Yukina? Selena looks healthy and dresses in a sophisticated manner while Yukina looks anorexic and malnourished with a very childish looking dress.

Not so sure about the "budding women" we seen so far, aka Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears and a few others over the decades.

Either one don't do much for me.

shogun36 -- wrong. We get daily pictures of interchangeable J-talents. About time we actually got to see what a budding woman looks like, and not just more girls.

Never heard of Selena Gomez, she is definitely not gonna win any beauty contests, ever. Where did they find her?

Next time please just have a picture of Yukina, by herself.

When Selena asks Yukina what she does, I wonder what the answer is..

Yukina looks about 80 from the neck down.

Wizened girl.

The_True -- completely agree. One is fashionable, the other is simply kawaii. One gets her fashion sense from LA/NY/Paris runways. The other from Tokyo Girls Collection.

The 18 looks more of a women than the 23, i mean look the way the 18 dress. wow!

Japanese school System can really screw kids Future.

Miss Gomez pulls in an easy $25,000 per episode of her show, and each season has 25-30 episodes. Not bad for playing a sarcastic, negative, complaining and essentially unlikeable character on that show.

catch the use of "star" and "talent."

Both have lustrous lips and beautiful smiles.

waving is about all yukina is good for.

Look at them. Selena`s a healthy, confident young woman, whereas Yukina has that gawpy, half-apologetic, half I-don't-understand look they have drummed into them.

I know which works for me. Selena pulls it off.

I really couldnt care about either of them to be honest ... next photo please JT!!

This is quite an interesting juxtaposition. Selena Gomez often tries to look pretty sultry in her videos, and often succeeds. Although Yukina's a good five years her senior, she's as squeaky and infantile as a five year old.

Disney teen star? Yikes! They all end up like hanna montana or Britany.

Yukina is a busy girl this week, at least on JT. The other day she was doing a beer ad, then they had her wedding party and now she's with Selena Gomez. What'll she be doing tomorrow - welcoming the pandas at Ueno Zoo?
