Actually you can see real Zombies every day on most trains and railway platforms.

A not-so-subtle reference to Easter??

Very familiar with Roppongi but have never heard of this. Is it a new event?

Pay 2,000 at the bar to join the Zombie Walk, you'll get a free energy drink and makeup. Also, the 1,500 Zombie Bar charge is free.

Lol!

zombies in Roppongi??....nothing new there

Very sad people who believe they are being outragous and out there. In fact they are indulging in being one of the group, they look ifferent by in the safety of a crowd. No originality, no spark, just organised drivel for the dumbed down masses.

I wonder if they go and hang out at one of the malls ? Cue 'The Gonk' theme.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

I think I may have seen this yesterday. Then again, it might just have been normal Tokyo shopping crowds....

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

The girls look the same as always.. actually dressed as zombies they are less ice princess and hello kitty and have more personality.. I like it.. will they come out with a designer zombie bag?

What no easter bunny zombie?

I am sure that many readers of JT have been "Zombiefied" in Roppongi at one time or another... self-included. :8

man, which are worse, trekkies or zombies? it's a toss up.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

the season Finale of Breaking bad is on tonight (Japan time!) .....they are just excited about that

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Last Friday I looked exactly like one of those people, no make-up required. I still have troubles remembering how I ended up in my bed (but I know it involved a nice policeman showing me the way to the train station:) )

I saw these guys at the Crossing yesterday - they were funny.

Some of those rules for taking part, as shown on the webiste linked above, are very funny too:

Don't attack humans! Don't think you can get away with harassing girls as a zombie.

Hahaha, Come on, man, this IS Roppongi!

No photography! The Zombie Walk event will be documented by the official photographer. No one else without permission may take photos.

Did they have Zombie police trying to enforce this one? Seriously, what a ridiculous rule ...

Flammenwerfer: you mean Walking Dead? Season final? Don't see the relation with Breaking Bad.

Haha its a 24/7/365 thing in all major J-cities, no need for a parade!

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

totally agree with you simon see hundreds of zombies every day in Japan, theyre called salarymen.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

I haven't been to Roppongi for years, but I am sure this zombi fest must be a daily thing there cos I remember it the same every time I went there.

I find the girl on the left interesting; chic, smiling, and relaxed...

Zombie parade on easter, in honor of the most famous zombie in the world. JC

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

I wonder if there was a smartly dressed little lady zombie with a flag leading the way?

Zombie parades have been taking place all over the world for several years. Its a regular thing at least in Copenhagen. And also in Helsinki it happens every year. Nothing new, but a fun thing.

wow, scary stuff!! But I thought Halloween was over!

Far out!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

the zombies in the front are quite more active

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Urrrrgh arrrrgghhh uuuugg, brainz, uuuuuurgh. lurches uncontrollably

Thank goodness zombification doesn't exist in the way that we imagine it due to the fact that decaying flesh really can't function at all unless its replaced by something that can.

The ones in front seem to be in character, but look at the two nurses towards the back, smilling, or should that be 'corpsing' ?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

exciting

Japan is peace.

Roppongi turns me into a Zombie everytime...

All good fun. I find it a little sad that there's a limit to 40 people that can take part, based on permits. You get a right-wing protest and hundreds can show up with their kids wearing signs they don't understand, but a bit of fun is always limited and strictly controlled. The Toronto zombie march is a whole lot better in that respect -- and you CAN take photos.

right-wing protest and hundreds can show up with their kids....

True. Amazing that they didn't show up, they wouldn't have needed costumes.

gelendestrasse: "True. Amazing that they didn't show up, they wouldn't have needed costumes."

And wouldn't have been able to attack anyone or take photos! There might have even been a J-cop with the stones to tell them to turn off their loudspeakers! :)

Ohhh very awesome :D I wish I was there to celebrate it.

All fun!
