Putin or as he likes "Valdamere" the impaler will give nothing, Abe has no chance, just give money for no return at all. At least Shinzo is again out of the country that's a bonus.

Putin: Pleased to see you, thank you for the money, no you can't have the islands back. Good bye!

Putin understands how shaky the US is under Trump. Abe must also realize this. Look for Putin to give up something to attract Abe closer to Russia's camp and lead him farther away from Trump's.

Trump and his supporters are getting what they wanted: an isolated US that's weakened on the world stage.

All the US under Trump has remaining are threats of war. But the world knows the US cannot afford to continue spending trillions on more losing wars, especially with Trump's new tax base which will result in lower revenues.

Even more of our taxes being wasted for something that will most likely lead to a dead end. Why hasn't this individual stepped down already? What kind of democracy is japan? Is it even a democracy? Yeah I know. Rhetorical.

Look, Akie enjoys a drink. It's common knowledge. Hardly a secret. Maybe she enjoyed a couple on the plane to Russia. Who knows? Why not, it's a free country.

Why is his wife with him? He’s not the Head of State - that’s the Emperor’s role. Who’s paying for her to be there?

I can be witness of Abe still spending money of no return. Well, he has money enough to use as much as he needs from his "successful Abenomics policy", every step up to impoverish Japan's economy and Japanese life. At least he has his supporters to raise him up. A man of history in satirical style. Very competitive to Trump. What a world is this!!

It takes a brave man or a stupid one to have tea with Vladimir. But as Shinzo is throwing Tax money everywhere a few kindergartens a few Vetenary schools...who cares.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe arrived in Russia on Thursday for talks with President Vladimir Putin in hopes of making progress on joint economic projects on disputed islands as a step toward resolving a decades-old territorial row.

Some idiots never learn. Putin is a dangerous politician who gave veteran politician Obama a run for his money. If a seasoned politician like Obama couldn't get anything out of Putin what makes this Silver Spoon Fed Jack Russel of a PM think he can do any better? Abe's arrogance knows no bounds. The worst part is, the media will spin the outcome in a postive way for Abe meaning he gets off the hook no matter what he does.

Putin or as he likes "Valdamere" the impaler will give nothing, Abe has no chance, just give money for no return at all. At least Shinzo is again out of the country that's a bonus.

Well said.

Why is his wife with him?

Lucabrasi- Like Alfie said-

We are. and probably for their drinks as well .

Well said Alex.

It takes a brave man or a stupid one to have tea with Vladimir.

The latter. Abe is too full of himself to know when he is in above his head.

But as Shinzo is throwing Tax money everywhere a few kindergartens a few Vetenary schools...who cares.

Yep. I've said it before I'll say it again- Japan is beyond help now. This is a sinking ship with a very incompetant captain at the helm.

This week Abe goes to Petersburg, Merkel to Jingjinji, and the Donald to twitter.

Who will be lost in history first, as another Asian leader questioned.

Slowly but surely Shinzo Abe is winning over Russia. Russina does not trust China, so Abe's plan is sound.

Shinzo Abe is one smart cookie!

What is she, Akie, doing there? What's her role in the summit?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

@Neraki

She's there to add to the false impression that she is somehow the "First Lady", thus making Abe out to be some kind of Head of State, rather than simply the leader of the LDP, chosen by his party, and emphatically not by the Japanese people as a whole.

It suits the nationalists to have people think like that....
