IF SK(and Japan) will have to be equipped with nuclear weapons and nuclear capable missiles to restore parity.....that is the most unfortunate things for both countries. Remember these two countries were very small but hugely populated. Their substaining of nuclear retaliations is very vulnerable! And retaliations will resulting massive casualties that they cant bear and the radioactive consequences will brought those lands inhabitable!

Dont try to boast IF SK,Japan will ever to possess such weapons, a havoc they couldnt afford it!

Unfortunately for the US, JPN, and SK...NK will never give up its nuclear arms nor the development of future nuclear arms.

That will have to be accepted.  But what's the solution to the problem?  Appeasement by the US, JPN and SK and accept terms of a Unified Korea under DPRK regime?  That's the purpose of the NK's nuclear weapons and missile programs:  Weapons of political intimidation and fear.

NK has upset the stability of the region with its nuclear weapons and ICBM missiles and gained an advantage in political intimidation power now.

Unfortunately for NK, China and Russia, SK (and Japan) will now have to be equipped with nuclear weapons and nuclear capable missiles to restore parity.

The games might as well be the Pyongyang Games, as NK seems to be getting is way with Seoul using a page out of the old KGB.

re: "While describing the deal as "seriously flawed," Moon has said Seoul will not seek to renegotiate it, expressing hope for a fresh Japanese apology to the victims"

Hah, what a lies they have been bleeding Japan for years. Enough is Enough, perhaps Korea didn't learn its lessons and still want more. Like Russia who thinks Japan is still at war with them,, so be it Japan should just once and for all conquer the administration of the islands as proclaimed by records and the US and just build on them like China did with the rocks made into islands.  No body kicked them out so why should it be different for anyone country to respond differently.

elephant - the Game Abe is playing is called Trumps.

It's a much simpler game a bit like snap - no strategy, winner take all.

Kim & Moon are playing Bridge.

Mr.Abe doesnt understand south Korea. He is an amateur of diplomacy no matter how many countries he has visited. At leadt he doesnt understand the game Mr.Moon is playing!

Since becoming prime minister in2012, by Sept 2014 Shinzo Abe visited 49 countries. Since then numbers added up excluding Africa, SouthAmerica and as for neighbors Wladivostok is the only stop.

Somehow a very selective choice.

Pressure, sanctions,condemnation etc etc

i could be wrong but it seems like North Korea is just going about business as usual.

'Abe also said he will tell Moon of Japan's stance on the lingering issue of "comfort women" forced to work in Japan's wartime military brothels following South Korea's recent policy shift over a 2015 bilateral agreement to settle the feud "finally and irreversibly."'

And no doubt he'll ask to do so out of earshot of other nations' leaders and for SK to co-operate quietly, lest it be regrettable and outrageous.
