Trade protectionism poses merits to no one involved

Including Japan's rice farmers, Mr. Kuroda?

how about Japan loosen some their WORLD'S HIGHEST tariffs to set an example?

World’s highest tariffs? Iran. Among the lowest? Japan. The tariff on rice is high, but many countries protect their agriculture. The US has a high tariff on peanuts, for example.

In another site, Bermuda had the highest tariffs.

What is Kuroda doing ? Inflating something without result ?

"Trade protectionism poses merits to no one involved. I think restraint will eventually take hold,"

Yup. When you and Trump are gone.... or do you think it'll "take hold" like the inflation rate you said would take hold by 2016?

I would suggest comparing with G7 or G20 rather than with nations that aren't large markets for Japanese products. And, it's not just rice. Meat, dairy, produce, or any industry that lines the pockets of the LDP will have high tariffs.

The BOJ wants to keep a low key because they know that they have been suppressing the value of the Yen for many years. This helps J Inc., but hurts the Japanese consumers. (In return, does J Inc. raise wages or invest the profits back in Japan? No, they hoard the money and/or invest it overseas.)
