Ah, good old hard drinking, anti-Semitic Steve. Still trying to stir things up across Europe these days. And now he tries it here. Japan doesn't need the filthy disease of Bannonism here, thanks all the same.

Bannon was the one who told Trump, “You’ve got this “ after the Access Hollywood tape dropped, so he has a lot of credibility in his predictions.

Credibility relates to whether or not one is telling the truth. No one knows the future, it's a prediction. So credibility is not the right word.

What he's got is a track record. He got one thing right once. That's not a track record I would consider to be one I'd gamble on though - with no point of comparison, we don't know whether he had blind faith and was lucky to be correct, or if he actually had a clue of what he's talking about. So whether or not he knew that Trump's entire campaign team was collaborating with Russia is a major question here. If he didn't know that, and made his prediction, then he was correct by luck, not by actual knowledge. I don't think his being correct a single time is a track record I would want to gamble on.

I'm just wondering who would have paid him to fly to Tokyo for a couple of days.....

A very good question, Alfie. People are still scratching their heads over his incursions into European politics.

Earlier Wednesday, Bannon told a Tokyo audience

Does anyone know what was this "audience" was? JCPAC isn't until autumn apparently. I'm just wondering who would have paid him to fly to Tokyo for a couple of days.....

Good 'ole Steve "I live in a dumpster" Bannon...

Was banished from Trump World for saying the meeting at Trump tower with Russians was "treasonous", and that Trump had "lost his mind"....

This is the type of sleezeball that infects Trump World - they're everywhere...at least until they lie to the FBI under oath and then they're in jail...

No wonder they lost in 2016 and will probably do so again unless they reverse course and return to being the party of the working class.

Forgot about the 2018 midterm election results?

"This entire movement throughout the world" of populism, including Prime Minister Victor Orban of Hungary

Bannon is now praising the nationalist autocrat Victor Orban. This is his vision of where America should go.

I tend to agree. Trump will win, The Democrats have / are quite literally giving the appearance that if "Air was declared as being a good thing" by the Republicans, then they'd declare that it was a "Bad thing and we should all stop breathing it."..... American Politics is so, so, bipolar - he says / she says... it's the Divorce rules of political scenes, for which the Kids benefit little....

Bannon always looks like he's just come off a colossal all night bender. Probably explains why he loathes the world he's woken up to.

"You've seen the radicalization of the Democratic Party in taking relatively mainstream politicians like Kamala Harris and pull her to the left and I think it opens up an opportunity for President Trump and I think President Trump's really going to contest this," Bannon said, implying that he believes the shift has been too extreme for the American electorate.

This is the meat of the story, though. Bannon represents the far-right and white nationalist demographic. Of course he's going to see any reaction to his shameful political narrative as "radicalization". Be prepared for more talking heads from the far-right (including foreign players) as 2020 looms ever closer.

If U.S. President Donald Trump survives multiplying investigations into his campaign and business dealings...

That's a rather large caveat.

"This entire movement throughout the world" of populism, including Prime Minister Victor Orban of Hungary and Matteo Salvini, deputy prime minister of Italy, "is really based upon people like Prime Minister Abe."

News reporting ought to do better than to neurally affirm the claims of Steve Bannon. Bannon praises Abe aside Orban, Salvini, and Trump under the rubric of "populism." Yet, that term attempts to secure a benign profile of current political developments. Recall what Adorno observed in 1959: "The survival of National Socialism (Nazism) within democracy" was more dangerous than "the survival of fascist tendencies against democracy." The cult of the market alongside the cult of the state distinguishes them from historical fascist regimes, but their conceptions of charismatic and authoritarian rule strongly evoke that archetype. Congratulations Mr Abe; enjoy the praise.

And the world hopes America comes to its senses by not returning Trump in 2020.

I believe that U.S. swing voters and working class voters would prefer to continue the economic gains of President Trump than to vote for the extreme left leaning, racist against whites, anti-men, pro-abortion at 9 months ultra radicalized Democratic Party.

I believe that U.S. swing voters and working class voters would prefer to have a president they can be proud of rather than the current shame that is Trump. GOP is radicalized under his attempt at leadership, as are his followers. The Democrats are the only ones talking sense and with the ability to lead America at this point.

Trump just embarrasses the US in the eyes of the whole world, making Americans look stupid. My US friends all agree on that point.

Laugh out loud -- uncontrollably!!!

Delusional ... just like Mr. Donald J. Trump.

The Democrats have become so extreme and hateful that even thier traditionally biggest supporters (African Americans and Latinos) began to abandon them last election. I don't see them returning.

I thought it was too bad Bannon left the Trump inner circle. He is the only one who understood the meaning of China in the modern world and maybe how to handle China peacefully and for everyone's benefit. Unlike Trump, who can't think of doing anything but slapping on tarriffs.

President Trump will end up with an even bigger electoral landslide victory than when he ran against "Madam President" in 2016.

mukashi - Trump 2020. I mean, who's going to beat him? Sanders? Harris? Biden? Warren? And don't rule it out completely - Hillary?

The Democratic Party has become infected with deep rooted hatred against anyone who doesn't fit into thier hierarchy of protected groups (liberal women, LGBTQ, African Americans, illegals, etc). Everyone else (white men, conservative women, straight people, etc) are considered as 'deplorables'.

No wonder they lost in 2016 and will probably do so again unless they reverse course and return to being the party of the working class.

That would be the Democratic Party, not Trump.

My US friends all agree on that point.

Your liberal U.S. friends. You need to expand your circle of U.S. friends to include those with common sense.
