These words are very hollow.... the only reason they're meeting is to try to scare Trump. Same went for Russia's overtures for a Peace Agreement with Japan. We all know what this is about and believe me.... Trump is in the White House eating a Big Mac with a Coke and laughing that he even got these two guys together to falsely discuss trade.

Japan shouldn't forget with whom they are dealing.

How much is freedom of speech, assembly, travel, honest elections, political demonstrations worth?

Or the right of self determination by humans? What is that worth?

Those are off the top of my head.

Fair and honest trade is important too, beyond just free trade.

BTW, do friendly nations bring up things from 70 yrs ago continuously as part of business negotiations?

are you talking about Japan? State Secrets Act, State Security Act. Conspiracy Bill. Over 3 percent land American bases where Japanese can’t travel. Troublesome journalists losing their passports, only 36% of voters even bothering, PM with 2 proven scandals and nothing happening...I can go on and on.

Not saying China is perfect though.

China hasn't agreed to free anything in years and they aren't going to start now.

Thawing in sour Japan-China relations is really a good development.

As you see here, international situations are always changing according as new developments set in. Therefore, one cannot say that a PERMANENT new base for the Okinawa-deployed Marines must be built in Okinawa on the basis of these volatile international situations

In my view, allowing Futenma's function to be relocated to Henoko means Japan has officially sanctioned the permanent U.S. military footprint in Okinawa, that is nothing different from a permanent occupation of Okinawa by the U.S. forces.

I think to be fair, Japan & China should try to understand each other.First, nothing is for free. Why do people always want free things ???? pls do not take advantage of anyone.Lets work for fair balance of human lives.Trade is a form of life not life.Pls put oneself in the others position and vice versa. If one cannot eat , how can anyone help others ???.
