Why and, what are Fumio Kishida & Anthony Albanese so nervous about?

China's continual military buildup and Xi telling his generals to get ready to fight and win wars.

In the many thousand years civilization and history, China has never attacked or conquered another country.

You clearly overlook what you wish not to see. China has attacked Russia, India, Vietnam all in the past 70 years, not to mention its invasion and occupation of Tibet. And its invasion of the South China sea.

And China built the Great Wall of China to protect herself from her enemies.

Millennia ago. China is currently ruled by an ambitious self styled Emperor who see's himself as world leader with no equal and is willing to go to war with his carefully built up military might to back his empire building. Jinping is dangerous to every living being and will remain so until either removed from power or having drawn his last breath.

In the many thousand years civilization and history, China has never attacked or conquered another country. And China built the Great Wall of China to protect herself from her enemies.

China's Contemporary Great Wall of China is not made of bricks. But of brave Chinese Soldiers, Sailors and Pilots wielding their powerful machines to defend their Motherland. Not to attack other nations.

So, why and what are Fumio Kishida and Anthony Albanese so nervous and fearful about that they should take the trouble to travel to meet to sign contracts?

"China warns..."

The audacity China shows blows my mind.

It's like they strut around thinking "i'm daddy alright! We're calling the shots, picking the song, and you're dancing the tune ... "

Japan you don't team up with Australia, but daddy here will team up with Russia and North Korea, your enemies..

South Korea, we're daddy, we're running the world...you dont get those missiles but we'll go ahead and build the biggest military the world's ever seen...

Are you f'n kidding me? Gotta be a massive troll job.

China is like a junk yard dog always barking when someone walks by but does nothing just keep barking loud and then get silent.

I wonder if this agreement allows Australian guidance missiles Carrie to patrol the Sea of Japan within Japan’s territory waters ?

I'm sorry, what? Australia has two helicopter carriers and they have no missile systems on board. Three air warfare destroyers have missile systems as do the Anzac guided missile frigates. Are you referring to one of those?

Patrolling Japanese waters may happen during a conflict but during peacetime they would have no permission to shoot down missiles not aimed directly at their ship. Japan has more than enough of its own ships to patrol its waters and with US based ships also at Japans disposal it is unlikely that Australian ships would be needed unless on a specific mission.

Well, the region wouldn't need military blocs were it not for the aggression of China.

I wonder if this agreement allows Australian guidance missiles Carrie to patrol the Sea of Japan within Japan’s territory waters ? And shot down any stray missiles heading their way.

"does not need any military blocs."

Look who is talking LMAO

Translation: "Hey! No fair! We want to pick you off one at a time!"

Never mind about what doesn't concern you and worry about your disgusting wet markets and foul propensity for eating exotic animals that produces deadly viruses that affect the whole world.

Fire an ICBM at Australia, you are really in trouble and it’s not an invasion by the way. What did Australia do to incur such wroth?

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

This is China flexing its 'No Interference policy'. You simply can't take them seriously. We all know the stakes are high but none of us picked this fight.

If China doesn’t like it, then it must be good for the rest of the world.

Japan and Australia are two sovereign nations and if they want to have a defense accord, cool. Especially since Japan doesn't have a true armed forces to speak of.

China doesn't have a doggone right to say anything about this matter, so the CCP had better shut it up and mind their damn business! And they should leave Taiwan alone too, it ain't theirs.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

For a country that likes to tell other nations to bugger off about their internal politics, China sure likes to add their 2 cents into other country's internal politics

9 ( +9 / -0 )

First China should put a leash on Crazy Kim. Before it starts mouthing off.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

That’s not even their cup of tea there in China. Other countries differ a lot and can more freely and very well on their own decide on their preferences for any alliances or bloc memberships.

playground politics, but with potentially awful consequences....

Over the past 40 years, China came out of its isolation and built a great economy. That economy has been shrinking and will continue to shrink under the new Xi dictatorship. When the Chinese people wake up and discover that they no longer have such a great economy they will make a change. Let's help speed this along. Buy less Chinese stuff and encourage businesses to leave China and no longer deal with them. Just sayin'.

What a waste of time. If the Japanese government wants to protect Japan's national security it should:

All trade with Chinese companies must be treated as a national security.

Charge 35% fees for products coming from China, Taiwan, Vietnam, South Korea

-Prohibit Chinese companies from buying any assets on Japanese and Australian lands

Ban engineers and researchers from selling technology to China

Decrease the number of Chinese students in Japanese universities

China is a threat and they know it. They are communist totaltarian govt. the world needs to contain

15 ( +15 / -0 )

While the CCP Chinese are allowed to take advantage of the Democracies' weak point like stealing technology, corrupting politicians and bureaucrats, silencing the mass media, this is all a waste of time.

It's no one's secret, the CCP want to dominate the world and control everything so stop doing business with thugs.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

I guess it's just distraction.

The real weapon of the Chinese is called "SILENT INVASION".

They learned with our Big Boss the economic dependence is much more efficient.

Look around, they are buying everything they can and your new boss will probably be Chinese.

In other words, "Don't you dare take measures to protect yourselves!"

Or, as Putin would put it, "Ukraine must submit to being destroyed, or I am going to destroy Ukraine!"

Back in the real world, we have to do what we can to protect ourselves, before it Is too late.

What the hell China doesn’t have the naval capability to attack Australia

Yes, it does. It has more than it needs to attack Australia, but doent need its navy when it also has more than enough long range ICBM's conventionally armed to strike Australia. And as yet Australia has no missile defense other than a limited ability from a few surface units in the navy. The Army has missile systems on order, but insufficient to protect the nation and some years away from being operational.

Beijing that state-to-state cooperation should not "target or undermine the interests of any third party"

This kind of thing always makes me laugh. China likes to pontificate, as if it adheres to some high-minded moral values from which we can derive all right and wrong. But it doesn't. There are no first principles. It is whatever is to hand to bolster a ridiculous rule it makes up on the spot. In reality it is self-centred, self-interested and totally hypocritical.

(Some, who imagine they are being clever, will say, "But that's just like xxxx." And so it might be but that line of argument does not make anything right.)

I'm old enough to remember the Cultural Revolution in 1966, when it seemed like everyone in China took part in a group rave. Makes me wonder if we're about to witness a repeat performance, under the great helmsman Comrade Xi.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

What the hell China doesn’t have the naval capability to attack Australia and Australia has no interest in attacking China, so why the fuss.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

You're WARNING everyone ELSE; 'eh ?

Nobody is listing any more, in case you haven't noticed.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

I don't know why Wang Wenbin bothers to have press conferences. Just keeps repeating what he is told to repeat.

16 ( +16 / -0 )

China on Monday warned against a new accord between Japan and Australia signed over the weekend to deepen their defense cooperation, saying the Asia-Pacific region "does not need any military blocs."

That is rich, coming from the China/Russia military block. Friends without limits! Bilateral military drills and exercises around Japan. Army, Navy and Air force exercises together every year.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said any attempt that undermines regional peace and stability will be "met with high vigilance and joint opposition" in the area.

A double edged comment. China is frequently undermining regional peace and stability which is why it is being met with high vigilance and joint opposition by Japan, Australia, US and India plus increasingly European maritime nations with precious trade routes in the region to protect.

Wang said at a regular press conference in Beijing that state-to-state cooperation should not "target or undermine the interests of any third party" and expressed Beijing's opposition to "blocs that drive confrontation or instigate a new Cold War.

China frequently undermines Taiwan interests & Japans interests as it looks to expand its territories at the expense of others. Chinese interests are counter to peace and stability, with its autocratic cold war mentality driving an arms race and hostility in the region and beyond.

China 'may' threaten the sovereignty of Japan and Australia.

It is already trying.

That's just absolutely pathetic.

Yes, it is. China is very pathetic.

China playing the media war as well.

Don't start screaming if China makes more alliances with Iran, Russia, NKorea, etc..

BAWAWAHAHAHAH, RTFL...If this^ happens, the free world would be much better off. Seriously, can you see any of them being part if a 'value chain'? Russia is not even part of the food chain any more, and China is becoming the same, irrelevant, the other two has been a liability to the free world for a long time.

I would be much more worried if India or Brazil joins them, India is the next in line to be folded into the value chain and Brazil is the powerhouse in South America.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

China makes more alliances with Iran, Russia, NKorea, etc..

the above nations comprise the belligerent bloc, whining repeatedly because they're not yet the replacement imperium. Those supporting, but not living within those countries should shift there, instead of pouring fuel on western fires and fanning flames hoping to further weaken the west and nations supporting the west. Most people living in Tokyo are free to leave the area. A choice many individuals living in nations run by a dictatorial regime do not have.

15 ( +15 / -0 )

China said what? Hahahahahahaaaa

26 ( +26 / -0 )

How do they do it? So shamelessly braindead and not even know it.

13 ( +16 / -3 )

If China doesn’t like it, then it must be good for the rest of the world.

Wang Wenbin said any attempt that undermines regional peace and stability will be "met with high vigilance and joint opposition" in the area.

Said the country running military drills around Taiwan and not-so-secretly backing NK.
