So, this is what's supposed to pass for democracy? How has this been allowed to go on for so long? What a disgusting farce!!

Joke.

In the July election, Miyagi Prefecture had the largest number of voters per candidate, while Fukui Prefecture had the least.

It's no coincidence that Miyagi often has strong support for non-LDP candidates.

"... narrow such disparities by adding six seats"

And that was after promising to reduce the number of seats overall.

And in the face of a decline in overall population,

AND plummeting numbers of tax payers.

I'd like to see a calculation of what those 6 extra seats are costing us in total. For every seat in either house, there come staff, housing expenses, dinner and car expenses, security details, salaries, super sweet health insurance and pension costs, and whatever else they can charge us taxpayers for. (Including mints and chewing gum).

We do not need more parasites in Nagatacho.

The Diet needs a diet.

It works out just fine for the LDP and as it helps to keep them in power they have no incentive to stop it. Judges seem to be of the opinion that they are obliged to do whatever in the best interests of the government, i.e. the party in power namely the LDP.
