N Korea has to find why two latest missiles stopped to fly and fell in sea.

No he is mad, if he had a sane thought I would guess reunication with the south, as that's off the table going to guess he is off his chops....(Cricky)

No, he is not mad.  He knows what he is doing.  He is fulfilling the DPRK goal to force the UN and U.S. to the negotiation tables and agree to a "peace treaty" under terms that ends the current armistice with the surrender of SK, withdrawal of U.S. military out of the Korean Pensinsula and unification of the two Koreas under DPRK's regime.

He fails to realize that there are more opportunities within Peace than there are, during/when at War. (UlsterBoy)

No, in his eyes there are more opportunities to accomplish DPRK's goals through nuclear intimidation and exploitation the world's fear of nuclear destruction.  Look at how the UN and Japan are reacting.

North Korea has stated unequivocally that their nuclear and missile programs are non-negotiable.  The UN and U.S. may well have no choice but to accept that fact.

Chinese Communists continue to fool the World about what their true intention is with North Korea (onedragon)

Communist China is embarking on an expansionist program in Asia not unlike Japan of the 1930s/1940s.  It has a well-armed military force and resources to accomplish these goals.  A unified Korea aligned to PRC goals brings a powerful military and economic ally to China's ambitions that will challenge the U.S.-Japan-Australia Strategic Alliance.

That is a truly amazing photo.

Yeah, the minute I saw it I had the urge to slap him upside the head...

Joking aside, I feel a bit sorry for the guy. He fails to realize that there are more opportunities within Peace than there are, during/when at War.

@M3M3M3Today

That is a truly amazing photo. I'm not sure if there has ever been a better image of a madman indulging his madness.

Totally agree but is it of his own free will or is this by design..... ww3 is in the post? the great works, magnum opus Mr A. Crowly?

He doesn't need a nuke to stay in power. If he relegated himself to a figurehead Emperor Kim (if he has oil he can retain absolute monarchy a la Saudi Arabia) and be diplomatic to other countries, including the US (he already has one security council supporter in China so kudos). Keep the p5 +/- 2 happy and he'll be golden. He could still influence the country through corporate CEOs.

I agree. This photo is pretty amazing.

Can we not get a satellite fix on this guy the next time they launch... make an 'accident' happen??

FAKE - That is a compilation of at least 3 different images.

I was going to call out "conspiracy theorist!" but then took a close look at the photo. The shadows don't match up!

Big difference between knocking out a few prototypes and industrial-scale production.

comments indicate the country would soon move toward mass producing the missiles for operational deployment, said Kim Dong-yub, an analyst

... That's a very inflammatory supposition.

Let's just hope there are some checks and balances on firing in anger. (Anyone taking bets?)

Good image though, chromakey or not.

Do people really believe he was sitting there like that? Ever heard of chroma keying?

And he need never fear the assassins quiet tread nor the hangman's noose around his neck. With nuclear capability North Korea is now untouchable.....

He isn't mad - he's very sane. He's just incredibly nasty and will do anything to stay in power.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said his country is nearing its goal of "equilibrium" in military force with the United States

With the US military in 1955 maybe.

The photo and his comments point to a single-mindedness that no sanction can stop, unless stopped.
