Nice photo. Her hand gesture is different to boss Joe

I don't think a US President is her "boss". It appears some people cannot image a relationship that is a partnership of equals motivated by common interests and common enemies, and not one of dominance and submission. Are the relationships in your life all ones of one party exercising dominance, expecting submission from everyone else? That is not the real world we live in no matter how much you might want to depict it that way. The US in particular has been advising the Europeans to end their dependency on Russian oil since the late 1940s when the USSR under Stalin started selling Caspian Sea oil to Europe. If the US President was the EU's "boss" they would not have become so dependent on Russian oil and gas, so your claim is not supported by actual facts. The Europeans ignored US advice (some "boss") and now they pay a price for it.

I have no doubt that both the European Union and Japan Government earnestly wish to do more to support Ukraine.

It's not just the invasion of Ukraine. The Europeans are seeing the true face of Russia and now believe their territory is threatened. Moreover the Europeans are coming to the conclusion that China is an equally dangerous adversary. Alone none of these nations have the means to directly challenge either Russia or China but as an alliance the EU with the US, Canada, Japan, Australia and New Zealand are very powerful and able to stand up to both adversary powers. The energy dependencies are not going to be solved in a week but you see Europe making real changes in where their energy will come from by the end of the year.

Not even elected by Europeans

Not so different than American Presidents :/ States hold elections but those elections only chose slates of electors. It is the electors who elect the next President of the US. In the 2024 election expect to see the legislatures and governors of some states test how far the system can be abused by sending electors that represent the majority party in the state legislature and not a slate committed to vote for the candidate that won the most votes.

They are wasting time and causing unnecessary problems. They cannot even settle their problems in Europe, why are they here???.

Not even elected by Europeans. Sorry but those two do not represent me.

The Russian Government is economically reliant on energy exports, the EU/Japan are equally reliant on those Russian energy resources.

Germany and France are impotent to drive any coherent or serious deterrent/response to the daily war crimes, genocide Putin murderous invasion is inflicting on the people of Ukraine.

The dithering, the excuses, as the atrocities continue to mount.

Both the EU and Japan must come down off the fence and pick a side.

So they are going to address the continued support of Japan for the Siberian natural-gas project and the reliance of Japan for Russian energy?

Tee hee hee.

If the EU and Japan are for sanctions, then stop accepting any sort of imports from Russia. Kinda sounds hypocritical otherwise.

They and Kishida will discuss further cooperation and alignment on sanctions against Russia...

So they are going to address the continued support of Japan for the Siberian natural-gas project and the reliance of Japan for Russian energy?
