If everybody pays at least 10% more tax, except very rich, can’t see this as a problem.

tax revenue to around 59.1 trillion yen

General expenditures, excluding debt servicing and tax revenue allocation to local governments, will likely total around 58.9 trillion yen

As long as Japan doesn’t need to service its existing debts or prop up its regions, everything is juuuuuust fine.

@fxgai

As long as Japan doesn’t need to service its existing debts...

Aren't you one of the posters who enjoys pointing out with a sense of alarm that the BOJ is buying up all of Japan's debt? Well think about it. A huge chunk of the "servicing" you speak of is paid to the central bank, and guess what: the money ends up back in the coffers of the Finance Ministry. There's your "government debt." Scary stuff, eh?

Ever wonder why none your fear-mongering over the last few years has never come close to materializing?

I am no fear monger, I just have a smidgen if common sense and a longer term view - not unlike many people in the BOJ monetary policy committee itself who have expressed such concerns.

Keep that head in the short term sand mr speculator.
