One can only hope differences can be mended. But I think Pres Trump is playing the Mad hatter and not the diplomat. The IMF itself needs to reform how they dictate the currency of a country by geographical location.

The main problems with the countries deemed poor are either there geographical location or mismanagement. This can be corrected by the IMF and World Bank by allowing countries deemed poor to incrementally raise the value of the country currency to make them competitive on the global market. As for mismanagement a sanction or two should be enough incentive to toe the line to spur development.

If these leaders are that good, they would not be having this problem.

I was hoping for word from the IMF or World Bank today, as to my countries membership status. I hope they had the vote over the weekend.
