The US pivot to Asia started under Pres Obama, who invited Xi Jing Ping to Washington where he told Obama that China will not militarize the South China Sea. 6 months later China was militarizing the South China Sea by arming their artificial islands. Make no mistake, the arms race in the Pacific was created by China's massive military buildup and aggressive territorial claims.

China’s only ally is the taliban and I have a feeling they likely are not going to show up to help if things go down.

China’s genocide and aggressive behavior toward other countries has left them isolated. They will collapse sooner or later. Hopefully for the good of the world, it’s sooner.

An armaments race knows no bounds. If one side wants to be superior in the possession of weaponry to the other side and is actually being so, the other side becomes desperate to supersede the rival country, and the race goes on and on indefinitely. An arms buildup is a lose-lose game unworthy to pursue.

Japan needs to develop its own nuclear weapons, strictly for defensive purposes of course, and along with South Korea, lease land to America for the purpose of. Forward missile bases capable of wiping out major Chinese cities within minutes of launch.

China's ' reverse engineering ' ingenuity doesn't mean it will match yar shiny marbles with equal marbles.

The way they think is way different and they may project OZ's acquiring of nuclear subs as a go signal for them to go 8 steps further up the ladder to expand their military alliance with Iran, Syria and NK.

It's like one nuclear sub for OZ and one nuclear missile for NK or Iran. And who can stop the Pandora's Box that Canberra gleefully opened?

Dear Yuri, a nuclear powered sub is semi- toothless without them nuclear ballistic missiles.

Armies just don't buy them da-kine battle tanks just to equipped it with pistols!

In what way is providing nuclear weapons tech the same as nuclear reactor's. One is a power source and the other is WMD. It seems some people cant tell the difference.

Brazil developing its own nuclear submarine was met with silence but when Australia plans to build some its opening Pandora's box? Since people are making false statements, perhaps Australia should just get nuclear weapons and with one of the worlds largest supply's of uranium it could build a huge arsenal to match Russia and America. It is a good thing that Australia does not want nukes and will not get nukes.

For China to copy the move it would be to supply nuclear reactors for submarines to NK, or Syria or Iran. Nuclear weapons are not involved in any part of the AUKUS technology sharing.

People talking about nukes do not know what they are saying, they have never been on the table.

Australia could design and build its own nukes within a year without anyone's assistance in any event.

Korea is already a ballistic missile superpower and there is no justification for basing US ballistic missiles in Korea.

The sole remaining US intermediate range missile base candidate is Iwakuni.
