Proving once and for all that morons are mutually exclusive but not geographically.

Have young Japanese nothing better to aspire to these days.

Great social distancing too.

14 ( +37 / -23 )

5 people, and not a single brain cell between them.

38 ( +63 / -25 )

I feel sorry for 'em.

6 ( +29 / -23 )

Ok, the election was rigged

Where is the evidence?

There is none. Many of Trump's handpicked supporters even say so

Go away and get real lives people

21 ( +43 / -22 )

J-QAnon basing its foundation on maintaining a racial status quo....not a good look.

Yasushi Watanabe said that Trump looks dependable to some people in Japan at a time "when the notion of Japanese being homogeneous is no longer shared and the term jokyu kokumin (privileged citizens) has come into existence as a target of hatred."

15 ( +25 / -10 )

First thought this article was a joke! Incredible that there are people living in such naive state of mind. Madness is the only excuse, unfortunately.

14 ( +30 / -16 )

I suggest the Japanese 警視庁公安部 keep tabs on these intellectually challenged individuals.

"A May 30, 2019, FBI "Intelligence Bulletin" memo from the Phoenix Field Office identified QAnon-driven extremists as a domestic terrorism threat. The document cited a number of arrests related to QAnon, some of which had not been publicized before.[142] According to the memo, "This is the first FBI product examining the threat from conspiracy theory-driven domestic extremists and provides a baseline for future intelligence products. ... The FBI assesses these conspiracy theories very likely will emerge, spread, and evolve in the modern information marketplace, occasionally driving both groups and individual extremists to carry out criminal or violent acts."

Trump & Kennedy? Yep, fantasy land!

19 ( +32 / -13 )

Makers of tin foil hats businesses must be booming worldwide. Better get down to the stock market.

10 ( +25 / -15 )

They should be able to think what they like...

-13 ( +17 / -30 )

They should be able to think what they like...

and they are allowed to. Just as we should be able to call their thoughts what they are, total gomi that is beyond ridiculous.

The freedom to think something does not mean freedom from being called on it.

26 ( +41 / -15 )

What is wrong with these people?!

They must be mad!

10 ( +27 / -17 )

QAnon supporters are known to believe that prominent U.S. Democrats are part of a satanic pedophile ring and that Trump is a savior who is fighting evil.

Seriously, mate. I understand political fights can involve people making outlandish claims but this takes it to a whole new level. What is next? All democrats are human eating aliens in disguise planning to take over the world.

23 ( +33 / -10 )

"Society is under the control of a small number of elite people," said a woman in her 50s who lives in Gunma Prefecture, eastern Japan.

She is right, Japan and the US are controlled by a network of oligarchs but somewhere the chain of reasoning broke down to believe that QAnon and support for Donald Trump is the way to break the chains of this system.

I have never understood the attraction of Donald Trump but somehow (skillful meme-engineering?) large numbers of people have been horribly misled.

17 ( +26 / -9 )

Throughout history and continuing today humans have been united because of shared beliefs in myths and other fictions.

One that somehow persists is the myth that people must follow the king (emperor, caesar, etc.) because he cares about us.

Throughout history and continuing today more people have been hurt and more problems have been caused because of those shared myths and fictions.

9 ( +15 / -6 )

QAnon supporters are known to believe that prominent U.S. Democrats are part of a satanic pedophile ring and that Trump is a savior who is fighting evil.

I always find this claim rich because Trump was a prominent pal of Epstein.

14 ( +26 / -12 )

Wow, now you have some very sensible people coming out, about time.

-45 ( +13 / -58 )

They look they were really serious about it. They were willing to spend time making some nice placards with QR code on them. They were even wearing tees and waving a flag. However, "Where we go one we go all" sounds like some funny translation using an online translator.

5 ( +10 / -5 )

Not sure where you are getting this "Don't worry it's just a joke, don't worry about it" take on it. You've been proven wrong and a major proponent of false information here and elsewhere before. Even so, what you state is not true of all the people who have attached themselves to QAnon.

Just pointing out that these QAnon folks are just screwing around and getting the media to take them seriously. It is just like the last election because the media has taken similar claims from two elections in a row seriously. I doubt the media will push these claims to Biden’s impeachment though.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Lunatics‼️

9 ( +21 / -12 )

A now-suspended Twitter account, which had been posting Japanese translations of QAnon-related information originated in the United States, had more than 80,000 followers.

The state of Japanese TV and variety is beyond bad, and folks just want to get a laugh somewhere!

5 ( +12 / -7 )

Just look at the losers in the picture! They all believe the loser Trump is fighting Satan, and Kennedy will somehow rise from the grave to run as Trumps VP next election.

Failed human beings who deserve to be laughed at and mocked.

9 ( +18 / -9 )

Different Kennedy person...Robert F. Kennedy Jr. who is big in the anti-vax circles

BurakuminDes

Just look at the losers in the picture! They all believe the loser Trump is fighting Satan, and Kennedy will somehow rise from the grave to run as Trumps VP next election.

7 ( +12 / -5 )

@ David Varnes

Totally agree with you.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Rather than ridiculing these folks or trying to silence them, I think it is more effective to engage them respectfully in an open forum. You may not win them all over right away, but it is a better strategy in the long run.

-5 ( +7 / -12 )

Often 'grassroots' activists are paid by states and big money interests to push their agendas.

Certainly the far right and others in the global anti-democracy, pro-authoritarian movements have benefited by financing groups like Qanon, using them to rile up the easily riled and further splinter nations with bits of democracy remaining.

3 ( +10 / -7 )

You can get an idea of the mentality of readership on here by the fact that a simple short comment like:

” They should be able to think what they like”

gets a barrage of down votes.

-11 ( +8 / -19 )

This article has by far the most comments of any article on JT so far.

No other article is even close.

As of now, there are only around 30 comments. That is far from the most comments by far. Not even close.

-6 ( +6 / -12 )

Well, well, well.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Sad little idiots.

At least we can now clearly identify the mentally ill among us before they become dangerous. I have only compassion for people as deluded as these obviously are.

6 ( +15 / -9 )

Baaaaaka!

-3 ( +8 / -11 )

No wonder the COVID-19 numbers are up in Japan. First, Folks like these who don’t have much of any brains. Where’s your masks? Second, they probably won’t get much support, and third, which Kennedy are they referring to? Do they know their Kennedys?

0 ( +8 / -8 )

Suburban middle aged pseudo-intellectuals with too much time on their hands. Go be productive and help where it's needed, like maybe a covid hospital housecleaning company and wash up the infected sheets and linen. Masks and gowns optional for you, we don't want to tread on your free speech and thought.

0 ( +9 / -9 )

You can get an idea of the mentality of readership on here by the fact that a simple short comment like:

Well, when your opinion is as nonsensical as "the moon is made of cheese," why should I respect the opinion of others?

5 ( +13 / -8 )

"We should humbly approach (the phenomenon) and ponder why there are people who start believing in conspiracy theories." Watanabe said.

I agree that we need to understand what drives people to believe these insane conspiracy theories, and why people are drawn to obviously divisive destructive people like Trump in clear violation of their own self-interest (he's a misogynistic White Supremacist who has sucked up to and showered praise on one of the worst Communist Dictators on Earth).

But at the same time we need to make sure that they are watched carefully to ensure that they don't descend into an Aum-like insanity that could have similarly tragic consequences.

4 ( +11 / -7 )

I feel it would be remiss of me not to remind people what QAnon actually is. It’s a conspiracy theory that says that ‘leftists’ and democrats and other people righties don’t like are part of a secret society of Satan-worshippers call ‘The Cabal’. ‘The Cabal’ runs an international child sex trafficking ring that involves molesting children so their bodies produce adrenochrome, a chemical that is created as a side-effect of the fight-or-flight response. The Cabal members then harvest the adrenochrome, or as they call it ‘frazzledrip’, to use to get high while they worship Satan. And Donald Trump is the Christ-like anointed savior who will destroy The Cabal with a series of mass arrests and public executions on what they call The Day of the Rope, a phrase lifted directly from ‘The Turner Diaries’, the most racist book ever published.

I am not kidding. This is the basis of the QAnon nutters’ belief system. It’s where the Pizzagate lunacy came from. Anyone who believes in this guff needs to be sectioned.

14 ( +19 / -5 )

Hats of to these grassroots activists, they certainly got their message across.

They did do that. And they got their responses.

You can get an idea of the mentality of readership on here by the fact that a simple short comment like:

” They should be able to think what they like”

gets a barrage of down votes.

They should be able to think and say what they like. Absolutely. But people shouldn’t get upset when the response is not what they expected.

Wear a big red nose and clown shoes and someone is going to laugh. In this case about 99% of people.

6 ( +13 / -7 )

@Chico3

I think they are referring to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2019/05/08/robert-kennedy-jr-measles-vaccines-226798

He is partly responsible for the popularity of a lot of the debunked anti-vaccine science you hear about these days.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Ok, the election was rigged

There is none. Many of Trump's handpicked supporters even say so

Just because the courts refuse to hear or consider the evidence does not mean there isn't any. There is lots of evidence, and I feel sorry for those who think there isn't.

-18 ( +6 / -24 )

Reason, logic and common sense are in retreat everywhere.

1 ( +8 / -7 )

Just because the courts refuse to hear or consider the evidence does not mean there isn't any. There is lots of evidence, and I feel sorry for those who think there isn't.

That is exactly what it means. If there was evidence of voter fraud, they would have heard the case. They won't hear the case, because there is no. Just because you think there was fraud, doesn't make it so.

6 ( +13 / -7 )

Or....maybe because the courts refuse to hear or consider the evidence does mean there isn't any.

How about you provide some proof, as concrete proof has been long considered the gold standard in supporting a conclusion especially in legal matters.

Wick's pencil

Just because the courts refuse to hear or consider the evidence does not mean there isn't any. There is lots of evidence, and I feel sorry for those who think there isn't.

7 ( +15 / -8 )

The yawning chasm of cultural and psychological barriers dividing East and West means that the chances of 99.9% of Japanese being able to understand who the dishonest, lying, lazy, know-nothing, incompetent, bottom-feeding American fraudster and grifter from Queens is, is zero when we realize that the recent election and the unprecedented post-election scam of the $200 million griftpalooza show that even Americans by the tens of millions have no clue who the real D.J. Trump is.

3 ( +11 / -8 )

Maybe they are not morons. They are all wearing the same uniform. Could it be arbeito, rent-a-crowd? They are not wearing masks, but that could be because they are close friends sharing living accommodation, maybe a group of students, but that may be just another conspiracy theory.

-2 ( +7 / -9 )

How can something that started on 4chan as an actual joke could have become a real worldwide movement? Between this and flat-earthers, we really live in the stupidest time in human history.

Anyway, "Do not feed the troll" is the first basic rule of the internet, and these people are all trolls, so the less time spent talking about them, the better.

4 ( +10 / -6 )

They should protest the ineptness of the Japanese government before they protest what's happening outside Japan. It takes all kinds to make the world go round!

5 ( +10 / -5 )

lots of triggered people here.

We don't need QAnon stigma to tell uncomfortable truths. 75% of Republicans and even 30% of Democrats in the US believe the election was fraudulent.

To say that there is no evidence is to admit you watch CNN and nothing else.

Which is incredibly sad.

-23 ( +8 / -31 )

These are some illiterate, ignorant and brainless people. Better not to bring them to limelight.

4 ( +9 / -5 )

Some of them were speaking in Chinese, saying, "Trump is the only person who can resist (Chinese) President Xi Jinping."

Biden is quiet as a mouse, how 'usual'...

If Biden is quiet, surely that's a prompt for the Trump side to be vocal.

-6 ( +6 / -12 )

To say that there is no evidence is to admit you watch CNN and nothing else.

Or listen to Barr and the SC and all the trump appointed judges and Republicans who would disagree with you.

But If you have something to share, it’s not too late! Rudy is looking healthy again.

It’s not entirely unbelievable that a random Internet forum poster might hold the key to saving democracy. Share what you know that apparently everyone else doesn’t.

11 ( +16 / -5 )

lots of triggered people here.

Seems to me the most triggered people in the past few months are all the ones crying and complaining about election fraud that never happened.

12 ( +16 / -4 )

Do people not have a right to think how they want?

Who is stopping them thinking what they want? Here they are, having a jolly little beano outside the PM's office. Seems quite civil.

But don't expect people to not mock them for their wilful ignorance.

To say that there is no evidence is to admit you watch CNN and nothing else.

How closed in are those walls getting eh young bob?

9 ( +14 / -5 )

Good to see it.

-11 ( +4 / -15 )

People who whine about a rigged and fraudulent election THIS time need to take cold hard look at American history: the election system and the way it has been administered has always been rigged by the powerful to protect their financial interests and political power at the expense of the poor and disenfranchised. The rise of the Donald has forced Americans, at least those who have the courage, to look under their election rock. Biden won this time in a relatively clean election (without the interference of the USSC).

This article has by far the most comments of any article on JT so far.

No other article is even close.

There's no such thing as bad publicity.

Hats of to these grassroots activists, they certainly got their message across.

Yeah, people are naturally drawn to comment on articles about people doing stupid things. There is a pattern to it. An article about a car accident caused by someone looking at their phone will get a lot of comments. An article about someone being arrested for leaving their kid in a car unattended while they play pachinko will get a lot of comments. An article about a certain city winning its bid for the Olympics and then seeing the costs explode afterwards will receive a lot of comments.

And of course any article involving the latest antics of Trump followers will likewise receive a lot of comments.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

It says a lot when Chinese nationals that escaped the clutches of the Chinese Communist Party support Trump. They have lived and experience communism. Also, it is not just Chinese from the CCP that support Trump, many people that came from other communist regimes also support Trump and know the stark difference between communism and capitalism.

-2 ( +7 / -9 )

In 2016, 72% of registered Republicans were birthers.

QAnon isn’t a surprise. These people have shown they will believe whatever trash they are fed. Not the sharpest. Bandwagon jumpers aren’t anything new either.

On the belief in election fraud, I heard another possible contributing factor. Some come from the non-competitive generation where everyone gets a trophy. They just haven’t been given the fortitude and backbone to accept defeat. This is sad.

6 ( +12 / -6 )

Sideshow Bob

u s reamer - President Trump received the most votes by a sitting President in his second election. Won more minority votes by a Republican candidate since 1960, won every bellwether county and counties overall 2500+ vs just 509 to Biden.

These are just some of the facts. Anyone who doesn't care to look into it a little further doesn't because they are very afraid of what the answer will be.

-19 ( +7 / -26 )

OhI don't think so at all. The people I know understand very well that in America you can go as far as you want. From a garbageman to an apartment landlord and all the way to President of the United States.

Yeah, afraid that the answer will be that Trump still lost because the other guy got 7 million more votes than he did. Your fear of the facts is palpable.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

Funny, I'm sure half if the above posters are the same people who since 2016 have been trying to overturn that democratic election by any means they could. Now the shoe is on the other foot that is all forgotten.

-20 ( +3 / -23 )

I saw a demo of these folks last Wednesday in Ginza. They were quite a lot. One of the leader in Japan is a the leader and the one who created Koufuku no Kagaku 幸福の科学 or Happy Science, à powerful group between religion and sect.

In East Chiba, Ichinomiya coast, the group was able to build recently one of their university, a 3-4 storeys building . It is just between the road and the sea and destroys the landscape. I wonder how much money the group put on the table to get the approval from local politicians

It is dangerous to me.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

QAnon is the 2020 equivalent of the Mickey Mouse Club.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

We should humbly approach (the phenomenon) and ponder why there are people who start believing in conspiracy theories.

Well said.

WHY? They smell a rat.

-12 ( +5 / -17 )

Where We Go, We Go All….

Humm…

Where We Go, We Unite.

More political impact.

Not that I support QAnon.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

I don't really care that much who won, but that election was rigged from the start. Biden could have never won. The guy barely appear ever on tv. He is more like a puppet for the democrats than actually a leader. Every rich guy want to go back to those days when they are making money and doing business with shady countries.

-14 ( +6 / -20 )

Given Asahara Shōkō – the cult leader and founder of the Japanese doomsday-cult group – had attracted numerous Japanese faithful followers in the 1980s and the 1990s, we should accept the fact that anything can happen and that Trump's extreme personality has inspired these Japanese group and many other peoples around the world.

4 ( +9 / -5 )

As for me, I distribute my complaints balanced. Biden, Harris and all the other Obama copies...a perfect catastrophe on all fields. QAnon, only crazy and stupid, not really worth any comments. Trump, the best they have over there, but he did a cardinal mistake regarding COVID-19 management, a very big, deadly and dangerous mistake , and also his including into his policies such crazy supporters as we are told about above in the text, that’s why he finally lost presidency. Summed up, a miserable future outlook....
