Japan, China agree on economic ties, split over islands

right after congratulating Biden , China send their foreign minister to Japan. A very strategic move... " look who is with us, who us under us now buy our products, and shut up and be quiet when we take that Island" This is the message he brought to Japan. What a pity??

Those tiny Islands belong to Japan. Case closed.

If China wants land I suggest you look at Russia, the country which stole 1/3 of China's land. You seem to give the Russians a complete pass on that part.

Economic ties with China is a recipe for chaos. US/China economic ties is the biggest, most significant in the world. Look at what it has done to USA unity. The media doesn't like upsetting its masters (the corporate elites mopping up on the stockmarket as a result of a Biden win), but the Trump loss is a defacto win for 'back to the future' with China.

I fear for USA, this could be the end of USA as we know it, utterly divided, fueled by rises in extremism from both the far right and far left. This is as a direct result of discontentment arising from economic ties with China.

Japan should heed the lesson, and at all cost avoid making the same mistake.

According to another media report, Wang Yi answered to a reporter's question as regards the activities of Chinese Coast Guard ships involving Japanese fishing boats in the Senkaku waters that it was Japan that had destroyed the common ground of understanding an already existing condition.

Wang is right to point that out. The camel's nose into the tent was former Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara's stirring the water by trying to buy three islands, Uotsurijima (Diaoyudao) and adjacent two islets, in the Senkakus. However, the then Oda government forestalled Ishihara's initiative, by offering an exorbitant amount of purchase money and thus nationalized the islands.

The government and many of the Japanese think that the Senkakus are Japan's sovereign territories whereby China has no right to interfere with how the islands may be dealt with and transacted.

The catch is China also claims to the islands, saying they have been an integral part of China historically and under international law.

So, without erasing China's concerns and doubts, Japan mustn't/can't act as it does. 

This is the reason why I keep saying there's a lot of room to discuss the problem at the citizens' level. A citizen-level discussion or dialogue is not a negotiation.

Make the islands a world heritage site and a 50km nature sea reserve.

China first should explain to the world where in Wuhan the virus  is coming from. Secondly they should explain to the world what kind of counter measures they did in order to prevent this happen again. Once this is done there is a space to discuss this small islands.

Nobody is limiting, or even trying to limit the freedom of Chinese people. What nations are doing is limiting the aggression of the CCP with its military adventurism. The only limits on freedoms of the Chinese people comes from the CCP itself. Japan is in not going to lose any of it's privileges. It has worked hard and deserves what it has achieved. China gets no say in it at all.

Suga does not need to change a thing. If Japan has high negativity toward the Chinese leadership then it is clearly up to the CCP to change in a way that makes it more acceptable to Japanese people. The onus is on China to change.

The issue of the Islands will always be the stopping point of the Japan China relationship. Though they may agree on many things, until the Island issue is settled there can be no true full friendship. If China is honest in its desire for a close friendship, it must abandon its attempts to claim Japanese territory.

China plans for the day that America will no longer back Japan over ownership of those Islands so that it can take them by force. Deceitful, sneaky China.
