Good on Japan. While this country has long had a strange affinity for Myanmar, sending these two back would be sending them to their death. Perhaps the authorities in Kabukicho are coming to their senses regarding that kleptostate.

As usual the government stops short of clearly deciding a side and instead puts people on a limbo where they are not recognized as diplomats but neither as illegal.
