US prohibtis NOW, not in the past, Japan from developing fighters.  Japan is forced to buy US fighters.

Still, 100% false.

http://www.military-today.com/aircraft/mitsubishi_f3.htm

If you wanted to argue that the Japanese constitution (and by extension, the US who helped draft it) limited what type of aircraft the Japanese could develop, such as heavy bombers for offensive use, you might have had a point, but as far as fighter jets, there is no prohibition.

Asian countries,, along with Arabic and African countries prefer Japanese cars than USA cars. Japan takes care or donate money to ensure Their roads are able to have cars running. Then, auto makers create factories in the country. Because laborers shortage in Japan, J automakers don't prefer exportng Made in Japan products.

GM, Ford etc manufacture cars in Michigan, now. But American streets and freeways are full with Nissan, Mazda,,, Honda, Suzuki,, Toyota,, Mercedes, Jaguar can be seen. These Japanese brand name cars are not imported from Japan.. Why people know? They have left side handle for drivers' Hyundai and KIA are popular cars built in USA by Korean Automakers. Trump is tooooo busy on Wall plan that Ameriica soooo not have merchandises to export.

Mitsubishi has been helping China and USA for any aircraft manufacturing for many years.

Japanese industries haven't been interested in military purpose anything.

About cars, because Japanese. automakers' branches manufacture their cars for USA customers' need, they are not interested to export to Japan.

USA hasn't prohibited any Japanese industries in USA..

Any country or politician that makes a Deal with the Trump administration will get hurt badly and endanger the people of Japan.

I do not eat meat from the USA as its bad meat full of GMO and antibiotics that are not good and then the Growth hormones is scary stuff.

Let them bring the cars in as no one will buy them

Me I own Subaru autos in the states as they are better than US cars

My friend swears by Hyundai and his wife likes Toyota's and Honda's.

American cars are junk compared to all cars now on the market.

Even the Yellow plates

The first 50,000 cars of a model can be imported to Japan without complete Japanese safety testing.

No cars can me imported into the US without spending $ millions on US safety testing.

Japanese car makers export more cars built by American workers at American factories built by Japanese companies than import from Japan. Japanese car makers are net exporters from the US.

Let’s stick to the truth. Thank you.

I agree with viking 68. I've been in many grocery stores, all over Japan, and the beef they sell is the most unappealing meat this Canadian has ever seen.

Why does japan need to import American cars when we have some of the best, and why do we need hormone and antibiotic cows feed on GM food?

A trade agreement is talking about barriers to entry not a forced requirement to import cars when there is no demand.

If you don't want to buy the car, then don't. Some people may want to buy the car, and they should be free to do so.

I prefer American beef to what is on offer in Japan. AU beef is also great as long as it isn't tailored for Japanese tastes. There is a big difference between AU beef at the stores and what you can get from a "friendly" importer.

Most domestic beef is overpriced and horrible quality. Or ridiculously overpriced and made for Japanese palettes, extremely fatty and textured like butter. Some people like that.

"No one in the world wants beef as tainted as that from the factory farms of the US."

Over the years millions of Japanese have traveled to America and enjoyed what you call tainted American beef.

Also, over the years, since 1966, my chain of restaurants have sold tons of American beef to my Japanese customers for their enjoyment.

There is good Japanese beef and there is good American beef. I sell mostly American beef because of its good quality at a reasonable price affordable to the average customer. Let's stick to the truth. Thank you.

Of course Japan is wary! No one in the world wants beef as tainted as that from the factory farms of the US. And cars? Just take a look at what cars Americans choose -- not American ones!

"Why does japan need to import American cars."

To the best of my knowledge no one has said that Japan needs to import American cars - so why the need?

I agree, Japanese cars are some of the best, and so are some cars from other countries - customers choice.

"US prohibits Japan develop own fighter jets or anything, but complains Japan's small restrictions on shipments of US beef and cars."

Lets stick to the truth. The US does not prohibit Japan from developing its own fighter jets or anything.

"In the first round of talks in Tokyo last year in April, U.S. Vice President Mike Pence said the dialogue could lead to negotiations for a bilateral trade pact, but Japan's Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso and other Japanese officials are opposed to a two-way deal."

Japan does not want a two-way deal - as Japan now has the deal in its favor.

Japan is punishing Trump with increased taxes on American beef - for pulling out of TPP. This will not work well for Japan in the long run.

All Trump is asking for, is a fair trade agreement - with any country. America no longer wants - one-sided trade agreements that benefit only the other country - creating huge trade deficits in their favor.

It is time that Japan treats the US in a fair manner for truly free trade - that would also benefit the Japanese people with lower cost.
