The flag that is hold by Japanese self defence military has been used for Japanese invasion to near country. And there hundreds of thousands people were killed due to Japanese brutal occupation. All these murdurs and a war of aggregation were justified without their true apology. There are still many survivors who had been a sex slaves or peple had become a disabled or psychologically affected. Imagine Nazi walk and parade across Paris celebrating.. and victims watching it.. this event is very disappointing and truly hope this is never gonna happen again. Japan should never holds that flag again. Never.

They look amazing! France is a truly great nation with a long history of friendly relations with Japan.

You really don't know history do you? You know they were enemies once, at the same time as the US was enemies with Japan.

Actually, if one is truly familiar with history they'd know that the only time that France and Japan were "enemies" was during WII. In the case of the Unites States, we have a 166 year long friendly relationship with Japan out of which 4 years we were bitter enemies. France would be similar if not the same.

They look amazing!

They look like people in fancy uniforms with flags, swords and guns. I fail to see anything amazing.

It is no wonder Japan received this unique honor.

On the same level as Singapore it seems!

It's the national military parade, and it's extremely boring. It's not a Bastille day parade (that would be on 13th night and that would not be armies).

Did France invite the Germans to also March their Army

Countless times, Merckel has a pair of slippers at the Elysée, she comes all the time. German and French are allies with common army stuff (bases in Germany, common work for NATO...). There is a rotation of foreign guests. All semi-decent countries can walk.

Japan invaded French Indochina in 1941

A clueless move. That was German Indochina, so Japan's side already owned it.

Nice to see the Japanese soldiers marching with the French as cameraderies instead of adversaries.

Geez, talk about someone being grumpy... @NCIS Reruns, not everyone knows about WW2 History - it's not taught until Senior School in Japan, and then brushed over. So I don't see how I could be "insulting" to your intelligence... please point out where I was so.

One could also question whether the French had the right to be where they were at the time, and if indeed the Japanese were "liberating" them, as was said at the time.

I still haven't seen an answer to the question, whether Germany was invited ?

Germany, Italy and Japan were allies during the Second World War

No need to insult our intelligence@Noidea

Actually Japan invaded French Indochina in 1941 and occupied it until the end of the war. Likewise for Singapore.

It's nice to see that some countries have the wisdom and courage to know when it's time to move on.

Did France invite the Germans to also March their Army down the Champs Elysees ?

History reminder: Germany, Italy and Japan were allies during the Second World War.

They look amazing! France is a truly great nation with a long history of friendly relations with Japan. Japan is incredibly popular in France. It is no wonder Japan received this unique honor.

Happy Bastile day celebration to all French people!
