Because why wouldn't a FOREIGN MINISTER be chosen as the new internal affairs minister, especially since, as foreign minister, he's an expert in 'taxation'? I think after he gets fired as internal minister in a couple of months, he should be rehired as health minister.

Looks like a Kishida twin

Political musical chairs !

With the social distancing obviously still in place, I’m guessing he slides the paperwork across the floor.

At least he didn’t say “regain” the public trust which insinuates they ever had our trust to begin with…

This nee guy is obviously a fool. The Emperors arms are not that long, he needs to take at least 3 more steps.

I think the guy handing out the papers miscalculated just how the new dude is supposed to get the documents. After all the bowing and fussing, will he fold them into paper planes and fly them across the room so the new guy can receive them?

"taxation and telecommunications" yay

Who is the guy to Kishida's left? Some kind of Imperial Chamberlain or something?

LOL.
You're about 4 decades late.
Nothing the LDP can do now, besides have all current members step down from office and start 100% fresh.
To even get any kind of chance for actual public trust.

What is the point of the events in the picture?
Did they really need 4 people to do whatever it is they are doing?
Did they even need one person to do any of whatever it is they are doing?

I just love that chair -- I hope IKEA will make a scaled-down version that would fit in my living room.

You do realize you are posting on a forum about Japan, right? Wait, me thinks you dont know, and you dont know about the political system.
Since the Emperor is the figurehead leader of Japan, he makes the appointments official, and Japanese love ceremonies and this is just one of thousands that happen all over the country at different times of the year, in just about every business and other places in Japan.

agree. rinse and repeat.
They are doomed politically, economically, demographically...
I fear for my children's future.

Oh, snap. This is a Japan forum? That's news to me.
They have a political system in Japan?
Amazing!
I thought it was just a bunch of old dudes, making up stuff for illegal financial gain. Now I know!

A guy who changed from DPJ to LDP because he wants Japan to go to war. From a family of politicians.
